I wanted a cool bag for my 17" hp pavillon...other backpacks were not big enough although it said 17"..then i found targus...it is a great bag with lot of space...even bigger than what i need...but it is okey and better to have more than none...You can put almost every thing you will need in this backpack...let me say it again...ALMOST EVERYTHING!!!and it is sturdy and durable..i love this backpack....I will certainly look for other products of targus....keep it up...we certainly want some more good products like of Targus... |

Good backpack |

Roomy enough for a 17" HP laptop and plenty of compartments. Velco strap holds laptop snug enough inside laptop compartment. Originally purchased mostly for while traveling on a flight with laptop and power supply, cordless mouse, Garmin Nuvi GPS, a very bulky GPS friction mount, camera, and other small electronics. Would have preferred a bit more padding at the base of laptop compartment. Durability seems ok although I've only had it for a few months so time will tell on the actual wear and tear -- varies from user to user in how rough we are on the zippers and mess pouches. Currently suits my usage fine for the price. |

Good not Great |
For the most part this is a good backpack, and the other reviews summarize the product nicely. To be brief, it is very large, to me, too large to use day to day, but nice when traveling. I bought it as an everyday bag, but it really is just too big, so I only use it when traveling and need to carry extra stuff. The front flap is somewhat clunky and would function much better if it had side supports. the zipper pocket at the top of the front flap folds under and is difficult to use, and the two large mesh pockets behind the front flap would be much more useful if they were sealed.
I personally would not buy another one. |

Tons of space |
Targus TXL617 17 XL Notebook Backpack
This bag really has a lot of space. The quality is great! The only negative I've found is that the front pockets are held up with 2 buckles which makes the backpack expand out instead of up. So if you really stuff this backpack then it won't fit in the overhead compartment on the airplane without you squishing the backpack down and re-adjusting the load. Overall though I really like this backpack because I need the space it offers.
