Great (for fun) magazine |
This is a very enjoyable (quality) magazine for anybody with a casual interest in history. The articles are not difficult to read and present interesting topics that are more for fun, not for study (usually, there are around 2 to 3 articles of any major significance). The facts are accurate and the writing is not top-notch, but not poor by any standards either. However, if your are a serious student of history, then this magazine is not for you (although, as a high school student, this magazine is still very intelligent); also, the "club" aspect of this subscription is quite shallow. But for $2 an issue of fun, light history reading, you will not be disappointed. My biggest complaint? It's only bi-monthly. |

Awful Marketing--Stay Away! |
Horrible Company--offered a free trial issue, and then referred me to the creditors for not signing up to their subscription. This is terribly sleazy!!!! Keep you credit rating in order, stay away from this magazine. |

very entertaining |
I like this magazine quite a bit. I learn something new from every issue, which is why I subscribed in the first place. It is perfect for someone with a passing interest in history, although for the true student of history, you may want to look elsewhere. Interesting tidbits, geared more to entertain you than thoroughly educate you in most cases. At times I am reminded of Paul Harvey's The Rest of the Story. I will say that on more than one occasion it has spurred me to research an event or person more thoroughly. That is always a good thing. Fun and informative, without being a text book. |

Terrible! |
This magizine is awful, overpriced, and tarnishes the study of history. It does not attempet scholarly discourse whatsoever, and a subscription will garner you membership in a "club" with abounding merchandice offers. |
