A follow-on to Massive Assault, I think, and another game that was released with no fanfare. Definitely worth the price. Prettier than Massive Assault, but lacks the scenario editor. Not for the C&C crowd, as there's actually some thinking involved in this turn-based strat game. |

Save your money |
Let me start out by saying I am 37 years old and been playing video games since before I could walk.
This is one of the worst games I have ever played, I buy between 3 or 4 new games each month, and have been since high school. The only worse experience I have had was when I bought a brand new game, took it home and the install disk was blank. That was also from a major game development company.
The good points is, turn based game, plays like a cross between the old blue byte games, battle isle, and the old general series, panzer general, fantasy general. It almost looks someone got their hands on the old code and tried to make a new game.
The bad points are too many to list all of them. The main turn off where tiny maps, you can move a unit from one edge to another in only 2-3 turns. Then there are 12 turorial levels out of 17 for the campaign. They tell you what units to buy, where to move them. There are no resources to speak of, most maps let you build a handful of units, or you can blow all your resources trying to repair the few starting units you have.
Even though it says there are 4 races, what it boils down to is you play the main race, the humans, against the other races one at time. The 12 rts deathmatches are a joke. There again the maps are tiny, no resources, and if you are not done in 15 minutes or less it is probably because you feel asleep playing.
After waiting years for the blizzard starcraft clones and another turn based game to come out this was the 2nd worse experience in my life. Please, do not even spend $5 on this title. |
