WW 2 Strategy |
|
For the fans of Nival Blitzkrieg 2, Frontline Fields of Thunder will be very familiar. This stand alone strategy game allows the user to continue fighting WW2 all over again. The overall feel is identical to Blitzkrieg 2 so getting up to speed is not hard, but with Frontline the AI makes the various missions a bit more difficult and much more of a challenge but they are not impossible to win. Like the rest of the same genre games you have to manage your units since you cannot build more except for the reinforcements already offered. |

Ok, not great game |
|
I usually would not have given this game a second look, but because it appeared to be a game that was in the Blitzkreig 2 family tree, I purchased it. And true to form it is very much in line with Blitzkreig 2. Like the Blitzkreig series of games, this one seems to be inline with the lesser quality control releases like Mission Barbarossa and Ultimate Challenge and not like Burning Horizons, and Rolling Thunder. In all an ok game but some issues with balance of sides and missions are near impossible to complete. Graphics are ok, but even these come close but don't equal Blitzkreig 2 grahpics or game play. |

fun game with good background |
Frontline: Fields of Thunder is a solid, fun RTS that focuses on the epic tank battles at Kursk of WW2. The graphics are good though not spectacular, but in comparison to many other RTS Games set in the 2nd World War historical accuracy is one of the big plus points of the game. One gets historical background for all the equipment and weapons in the game. Gameplay is great, battlefield dynamics are sound and the missions fun.
While not the most innovative WWII RTS there is, for 29,99$ it is a good addition for any RTS gamer. |

sure to be found in the budget bin. |
|
this looked like the kind of action RTS game i like to play, so i gave it a try. what i found was a game with awful graphics for 2007.. yes there's something to be said for making games that don't need an amazing computer to run, but these graphics just suck.. and a game that doesn't offer anything over what other games offer. why would anyone play this when they could play company of heroes?!?!?!?! it just makes no sense. |
