In 1859, a thirteen-year-old-girl began a diary, detailing the emotions and events of everyday life. Daily life in her small hometown of Cleveland, Tennessee was not destined to remain quiet and routine, however. Boring. |
|
Unless you live in eastern Tennessee, pass this book by. It was written during the Civil War, but you'd never know it. There are only a very few references mentioned about current events, and not even the end of the War. Ninety percent of it is Myra visiting friends, neighbors, hearing of deaths in the community, going to church and not going to church. Boring. |
