Disappointing audio inputs |
|
I bought this TV because it was the only 37" model that would fit in my older entertainment center. The picture quality is good. And I had the TV up and running within about 30 minutes of unpacking it. It did an excellent job of finding all the channels available on my cable system. After using it a week, I have 2 major complaints: 1. Surfing channels is a painful experience. The reaction time is simply too slow. It just feels like it takes forever to get from one channel to another. 2. I could not successfully connect external devices to the TV and get the audio to produce anything but static. I tried a Wii, XBOX 360 and a DVD player. It did not matter whether I used Inputs 1,2 or 3. And I used 2 different AV cables. The result was the same ... STATIC. The speakers worked OK in normal TV viewing mode. So, I could only conclude that something is wrong with the audio inputs on this TV. The only way I am able to successfully connect an external device to the TV is to take the device through an external sound system first, which is a royal pain. Sharp must have a manufacturing/quality problem with the Audio Inputs and I suspect my TV is not the only one they've shipped with Audio Input difficulty. Unfortunately, it's too painful to have to box this thing up and ship it back, so I am stuck with it. My advice - steer clear of Sharp Aquos if you need to easily connect an external gaming device for your kids. |
