The UXB20 from Sharp is an inkjet fax machine with some nice features and a low price tag. It has a 9,600 bps modem speed, which equates to about 15 seconds per page, and comes with a 448 KB memory, capable of holding up to 24 pages of incoming faxes if you run out of paper. The paper tray holds up to 100 pages, while a 10-page automatic document feeder makes sending multi-page faxes a snap. The corded telephone that comes with the fax machine is ready for both caller ID and distinctive ring detection, and you can store up to 30 numbers in your speed dial directory to easily call or fax friends, family, or business associates. The UXB20 has a 392-lines/inch vertical maximum fax resolution (203 lines/inch horizontal) and is also capable of making 600 dpi copies. Documents up to 8.5 inches wide are accepted, while an EZ-NAV dial makes it easy to navigate the menu and adjust fax settings. Sharp provides a 90-day limited warranty on both parts and labor. I liked my original sharp same model which I had for years. When it came time to replace it, I found all the other models cost a great deal more. |

I can't believe how bad this is... |
I have some technical savvy, but this FAX machine has got to be the worst appliance I have ever used.
1. The paper for faxing NEVER feeds right. I have to hand-feed this thing one sheet at a time.
2. Virtually every FAX sent to me that has more than one page gives me an E-1 communications error.
3. When faxing to someone else, this thing habitually pulls through two sheets at a time.
I am so sick of this thing with it's paper jams, communications errors and inability to feed paper right, I'm about ready to throw this thing in the middle of the road and gleefully laugh as car after car runs over it.
There is one nice thing I can say about it though: The only way it could be worse is if flames shot out of it and it burned my office down every time there was an incoming fax. |

Very good product for price I paid. Like inkjet cartridge (no thermal roll)I use it sparingly, but am very pleased with performance, so far. |

Junk - If you want to, you could just throw your money out the window |
|
This broke after about 20 sheets of paper. The intake doesn't work now and I have to hand-feed each sheet very carefully. Even then it only "takes" about half the time. It doesn't work for incoming because of this either. Total waste of money. |

Good So Far! |
The Sharp UX-B20 Inkjet Fax machine that we bought has been working fine so far. We got it a couple of months ago. The copy utility works fine. We received a fax from my wife's Avon District Manager and it came out with acceptable quality.
We have not had a chance to actually send a fax with it yet, but I'm sure it will work fine. The only reason that I gave the machine four stars instead of five is that the ink cartridges were a bit steep in price for a single color inkjet fax machine. We paid about $26.00 for the first ink cartridge.
My wife is an active Avon Representative and I have a popular pro-gun Web site. We needed a fax machine for occasional faxing and decided to go this route instead of going with one of the broadband faxing companies that charge about $8.00 a month. We will probably only be faxing documents a dozen times a year and this machine fit the bill for us. |
