Product Description |
|
Our best all-in-one music system is now even better. The Acoustic Wave® music system ll offers more lifelike sound for larger spaces, with improved functionality and versatility, yet remains refreshingly simple to use.
Acclaimed waveguide speaker technology still lies at the heart of this system's performance, so it rivals the sound of much larger, more complicated stereos. An all-new Bose digital platform fine tunes the sound for more accurate, consistent music reproductioneven at louder volume levels. Vocals sound cleaner. Instruments ring truer. The result comes closer to music in a natural, live-performance setting.
The Acoustic Wave® music system ll plays your home-burned CDs as well as regular discs and AM/FM radio. You'll find a new headphone jack for private listening, auxiliary inputs and an updated informational display. A variety of accessories adds to your listening enjoyment at home or on the go. And you can add our optional 5-CD changer for even more continuous listening.
The system hasn't changed in size or convenience. It still fits almost anywhere in your home, easily controlled from across the room by a credit card-sized remote. It accomodates your MP3 player, travels easily and goes portable with the optional power pack.
The original Acoustic Wave® music system changed opinions of what a quality stereo system could be. Now, the Acoustic Wave® music system ll challenges our perceptions once again, with sound that comes even closer to the essence of live performance. |

Good boom box. |
|
I have the 1st AW1 with a tape player I bought around 1990. I have never had any reliability problems but I use it as a boom box. So 20 years is pretty good reliability. Beware Bose will not sell you any part if it goes bad. I wanted tape player belts and they refuse to sell it. This is so their repair centers can extort a labor charge for repair. So you are buying a $1000 almost disposable product. One time I called Mcintosh for a var diode and they sent it to me free of charge. Now that is service. Bose was more than willing to sell me a new discounted Wave rather than sell me $3 worth of rubber belts. Also, the 901 speaker surrounds rot out. |

Bose acoustic wave system |

This is a wonderfull system and worth every penny - and more! The gentleman from Washington tested a used one in the pawn shop. It was probably stolen and damaged by some miscreant. Do yourself a favour: listen to a new item and then review itBose Acoustic Wave Music System II - Graphite Gray]] |

criminally overpriced and underperforming |
I got to hear one of these Acoustic Wave II radios in a local pawnshop. I put some of my home-burnt CDRs into it and it would not play them without hiccupping. Not a one. Just to see if this machine would take only commercially produced CDs, i grabbed one off the shelf and put it in- Voila! It played it mostly OK, with an occasional glitch. This machine would properly play ONLY commercially produced CDs. I can see why it ended up in the pawnshop on this fault alone. I certainly hope they all aren't like this.
Aside from its CD performance, I checked its bass response, which cut off sharply below about 40 cycles per second, which is ok if you only listen to pop music [the sharp cut-off makes electric bass sound more prominent], but if you like pipe organs and such, it makes [CD recordings of] them sound as though the organist's pedals below low E are non-functional, with a bit of a "one-note-bass" quality. Based on these 2 faults, I would not waste $1100 on a brand-new one, much less $400 for a used one in a pawnshop. |

THIS UNIT IS GREAT!!!!!! |
|
This is a great unit. In the advertisements they drive the consumer to listen to acoustically driven music hence the name of the unit. I am a R&B lover. A lot of the times R&B is very bass heavy. This unit handles R&B quite well, so I know anyone who listens to acoustic driven or classical music, will be more than pleased with this unit. For the size of the unit, it performs really well! It is a great investment and it is portable. Don't listen or go by the negative reviews! |
