Product Description |
|
The Wave music system reproduces one-half octave lower musical notes and delivers even greater clarity and definition than the original Wave radio/CD. With its deeper tones and even more lifelike sound, you might just feel like you're sitting in the front row. Inside, our new proprietary waveguide speaker technology combines with other Bose technologies to deliver enhanced performance at all listening levels. You'll hear the same clear musical nuances whether you turn the volume up or keep it soft. You'll also enjoy the full depth and range of every vocal or instrument on MP3s, CD-R/RWs, and conventional CDs. Listen to CDs created on your computer and take advantage of the digital MP3 format for hours of uninterrupted Wave music system quality sound. The Wave music system was engineered to be delightfully easy to use. There are no visible buttons. Instead, the entire system is completely and conveniently controlled by a credit card-sized remote control. And setup couldn't be easier. The CD player, digital AM/FM tuner, amplifiers and speakers are all built-in so you can enjoy quality sound right out of the box. The large, bright display panel is easy to read and understand, prominently displaying the artist, title and album names of your suitably encoded MP3 CDs. It's also easy to enjoy the system's full, rich sound with your TV, VCR, DVD player, or computer, thanks to an auxiliary input jack. And if you want to keep the music to yourself, you can simply plug your headphones into the headphone jack. The Wave music system may look familiar, but it takes the original award-winning design of the Wave radio/CD to new levels. With its absence of buttons and a convenient slot-loaded CD player, the slim, sleek profile shines through to complement just about any room.
Its lighted buttons are ideal for low-light conditions and its larger, rounded design is comfortable to hold. |

bose wave |

I've purchased 5 bose waves over the pass 10 years - all are still going strong. It's one of my favorite gifts to give since the recipient is always pleased. I did get one with a bad battery in the remote but this was easily replaced. Don't spend more than you need to for great sound - get the $500.00 bose radio/CD. |

Love it! |
Amazing device. I had a chance to listen to this music system in Las Vegas at Red Rock Hotel. Simply amazing. Back to NY I ordered one from Americancivilwar. A little expensive bur once I received it I forgot about the price.
For people that complain about the lack of buttons did you know that there is a Integrated Controller sold for $39 by Bose?

Some quirks, but the sound... oh the sound. |
Pros: The sound, the sound, the sound
Cons: Too expensive, CD player has issues
I bought my Wave about two years ago and I have to say that I can hardly listen to regular speakers anymore without cringing. Of course, I can't afford to Bose-ize my entire speaker assortment and it took me a while to make up my mind to get it (I don't like to overprice just for a brand sticker if the product doesn't deserve it) but I'm happy I did eventually shell out the cash for it. It's hard to believe that such expansive, rich sound can come out of such a small box and at first you'll be marvelled at how sound seems to be coming from places where there's no speakers; it does create a very "there" experience.
Issues with the design seem to be more of a personal taste thing. While customization in the form of a bunch of knobs and buttons sounds good, I'm sure I'd have found a good setting and left them there most of the time so I'm not against the button-less design as it's quite stylish and unique. That said, a hidden, inset eject button would have been useful for when you need to change CDs without having to unplug/replug the unit if you've temporarily misplaced the remote. Speaking of the remote, it does have quite a reach and I can usually use it from another room in the house just as long as I'm pointing towards the bedroom door. I've even used it under the covers and it works.
When I first got my Wave the CD player started getting stuck and ejecting some CDs on its own within the first 30 days. I returned it back to Bose who sent me a new unit free of charge but the CD issues resurfaced a couple of months later. Since I didn't care for the hassle of sending it back again as it seems to be a design flaw, I kept it. Nowadays I do get the CD issues every once in a while but they are not as annoying or as frequent as they seemed at first. For the most part, it plays just fine. I love Bose speaker technology, but they don't make the best CD players. In all fairness though, the unit plays hassle-free both audio and MP3 CDs 95% of the time and with great sound. Recommended.

Americancivilwar is a great way to make purchases and the Bose Wave radio is also great. I am very satisfied with the whole process.
