The DJ PRE II is a high quality Phono preamp designed for your home and studio. It acts as an interface between your turntable and your audio recording system. The analog input capacitance can be switched between 100pf and 200pf to optimize your phono cartridge response. A switchable low cut filter removes turntable rumble while leaving the audio pristine. The front gain trim control and signal/clip LED allow you to optimize the preamps gain for a wide range of input sources. The built-in low noise Phono preamp circuitry is highly accurate and precisely conforms to the RIAA standard. The Line Output jacks are low impedance and can work with any sound card. Housed in an all aluminum black anodized case, the DJ PRE II can be powered by a wide variety of external supplies. Great Little Preamp |
I just received this little gem today, and after I fired it up and listened to some classic rock on vinyl, all I can say is "wow". S/N ratio is great, no noticeable 60 HZ hum, and a great looking little high quality package. I got this for use with a spare input with my Yamaha C-45 preamp, as the phono circuit on the preamp was a little on the noisy side.
I was not disappointed at all. You really can't go wrong for the money. |

Great little black box, great value |
I bought this product several months ago to transfer my LPs to digital files. The preamp produces a clean amplification, with the added benefit of several tunning options. With Gain Trim you can adjust the amplification according to the volume of the source.
You can also adjust the Input Capacity to either 100 and 200 pFarads.
One of the most useful setting it has is a Low Cut (High Pass) filter that allows all frequencies above 80 Hz to pass while blocking lower frecuencies. This gadget, when turned on, will kill the annoying rumble of your LP player. My LP player (a Technics) had a low frequency noise that is cut when you use the Low Cut producing a cleaner recording. A great gadget.
By the way I use Audacity as my recording software together with this amplifier and this works just fine.

excellent value and very good performance |
A well made and nicely engineered product that is a bargain for under fifty dollars . The ART phono preamp sounds much better than the phono input on my Pioneer Receiver.
I wish the ART folks would market a more expensive and higher quality model that you could upgrade to if desired . |

ART DJ Pre II Phono Preamp |
Our Kenwood receiver and turntable are probably 14 or 15 years old in excellent condition, but I upgraded the receiver. As goes technology, the turntable was not compatible with the new receiver.
The ART DJ Pre II Phono Preamp was just what my home theater sales associate recommended, not by brand, but he told me what I needed and boy was it the ticket.
I just plugged it in and I was back in action.
User friendly for the over 50, excellent product. |
