It's an adapter. . . .pretty simple |
This is a good product but not great. It's an adapter so it's primary function is pretty simple. However, the holes on the bracket itself are not threaded. you get self tapping screws that you must use to make the threads in it first then you are good to go. Make sure the screws go in straight or else the threads will be crooked. If the holes would have been threaded, I would have rated 5 stars.

Works as advertised |
To mount a 3.5" hard drive in a 5.25" (CD/DVD) bay, this is all you need...and the price is right. You may spend a few minutes trying to figure out which way is up with these guys, but install it as shown in the photo linked to this page, and you'll have no trouble. The *slots* go against the drive, and your screw driver goes through the large oval holes to tighten them down. Then there are 4 machine screw holes on the outer flange to let you mount everything to your case.
Screws are included...If you don't have nimble fingers, you'll probably end up frustrated trying to get them started. It goes without saying that you shouldn't succumb to the temptation to use a magnetic screw driver when installing a hard drive. |

they work |
Took a couple minutes to figure out, but solid.
Tip: make sure you know how many drives your computer will handle.
My HP xw9400 has 8 ports on the motherboard, but will crash if you plug in more than 5.
Now I know.
It took 2 months, 2 service calls and everything switched out (motherboard, processors, power supply and system drive) to figure out we had to pull one of the 2 drives in the spare optical bays. |

Precisely as expected |

These brackets were exactly what I needed. I can now fit 6 drives into a case designed for 4. 6TB looks great on any system! |
