Fans of the film, and all its fun, friendly characters, will remember Mack as the friend of Lightning McQueen -- the hot shot racing rookie -- whose image is on the side of the trailer. Not only is the adorable red semi truck transportation for McQueen, Mack is also a "bachelor pad" for the racecar with seven different play features, including a weight machine, car lift for repairs, game station, and more. A great place to cool down after a day of racing, the blue pad is a hang-out area, or -- with the push of the yellow/gray button -- a rocking "dance" lounger for McQueen. The vehicle also has a TV set, an opening fridge for a drink of oil or water, and a car wash with a sink, toothbrush and mirror. Each character in the Mattel Pixar Cars set is beautifully detailed and blister packaged replica, designed in 1:55 scale die-cast. Measuring 14 inches long and 5 inches tall, the Mack Truck playset is also built with durable hard plastic that stands up to the play of young children. It will be loved to pieces, literally!! |
Our son just received this toy for his 5th birthday and it is his absolute favorite birthday present. He is obsessed with it and can't wait to return from other necessary activities to play with Mack some more.
On the plus side, our son hasn't had any trouble opening the toy up or uncoupling the two parts and since he already had a Lightning McQueen he wasted no time loading him inside.
On the negative side, the play zones inside the truck are not very intuitive--my husband and I had to examine both the box and instructions carefully to discern what the stuff inside "does" (which truth be told isn't much) and then try to explain the functions to our son. One of the biggest problems we've had is that our boy has tried to put other Cars characters and/or more than one car at a time inside the truck and close it up. This has already cause some damage to the fairly fragile interior.
The construction of the truck does seem fairly cheap and my husband and I were both disappointed that Mack's cab was not diecast to match the quality of the other Pixar cars. As much as our son is playing with this toy, we'll be surprised if it lasts the 3 months until Christmas.
It's a cute turck that has a lot of kid appeal, but it loses points for poor durability. I'm not looking forward to the day it ruined beyond repair--it will be a heartbreaker. |

Lots to Do |
|
I bought this toys for my son's 4th birthday in June. Overall I am very sastified with it, however, it is not very easy to get open. As a matter of fact my son never closes it, to avoid having to open it back up. The inside of Mac is really nice and it holds my son's attention for a good period of time. I like that we can take it places that he will have to wait (Doctor's office, grocery store, etc) and it keeps him busy. |

Lots of activity in a small package |

This toy kept my 3 yr old son busy for hours and was one of his favorite toys that he got last Christmas. He continued playing with it quite a bit the first couple of weeks after receiving it and still enjoys it on and off today. I was very impressed by the attention to detail they put in to this toy and to date nothing has broken off, even with him being fairly rough on it at times. |

my 3 year old is soo happy about this mack truck that he wants to take it everywhere, it has little fun things to play with inside it, taking a shower and brushing teeth and a car lift ect. so much fun for so little money a must for cars fans, and its perfect size not to big and not too small... |
