Bilingual Dora and her monkey friend Boots have places to go and rescues to make, but they need the help of their young viewers in this delightful Nick Jr. program designed to simulate computer software. Although it can't be truly interactive, of course, toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy the pauses as Dora waits for them to count or speak Spanish before moving on. In "Little Star," the brown-eyed heroine and her primate amigo come upon a weeping fallen star and make the journey to a hilltop, returning it to the heavens. In "Wizzle Wishes," the friends are reading a storybook when one of the characters leaps from the page in pursuit of three wishes. They must catch the runaway wishes in order to get Wizzle home, but first they have to deal with Swiper, the klepto fox who beat them to it. Children learn a simple Spanish word each 23-minute episode (salta and cuidado, respectively) as well as repeatedly hearing the basics (hola, muy bien). As with any computer game, Dora is aided and thwarted by a series of characters children will love to anticipate, including her singing anthropomorphic map, the crusty bridge troll, and the shy, Spanish-speaking squirrel. Ages 2 to 6. --Kimberly Heinrichs |

Dora the Explorer and the monkey Boots |
I don't know why I'm reviewing this, but I'll do it any way. I'm a kid of 11 years of age and I really don't like any Dora things. I only watch the show when I'm bored, but I think it's fun to kids below the age of 6. Parents you should get this for your kids. When I was little or Americancivilwar and buy this today!
I hope this review helped you!

"I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map!" |

Yeah, so many hours have been spent watching this one with my niece that I have become a "Doraphile". Engaging dialogue, brilliantly alive colors, and easy-to-learn songs make Dora a perfect "teacher". She and pal Boots play off each other well, and the sinister Swiper the fox is an amusing foil in their adventures. It's no wonder that Dora is so popular among the preschool set. In the words of the backpack, "Delicioso!" |

My son is crazy about moons and stars and dora- especially swiper!!! so this of course was one of those "had to buy tapes" this one is not annoying at all- it is really cool!!! I love the grump old trol and get a kick out of him when I see him- my son- who is two will ask to watch this over and over again- I must say it is not annoying and is very educational and enjoyable- I love Dora's use of Spanish and English in the video and I ove her problem solving ablities- it is one I would recommend to anyone-- ps-- my husband also likes to watch it!!! |

Dora is wonderful! |
|
In my house, we have gone from Sesame Street to Dora the Explorer. This is the first video that we bought after watching the show and it was a great buy! Two episodes of Dora the Explorer on the tape, which contains fun songs and of course a subtle lesson in Spanish. My daughter loves Dora and this is a plus, as she is learning some Spanish along the way. A great idea for a gift, this video will actually help your child to learn something....not just have them staring blankly at the screen. And in my book, that is always a good thing. |

We got the Spanish version. It is definitely a winner at our house. My 3 year old never tires of it and she has picked up even more Spanish because of the way it has held her interest. |
