Product Description |
|
This enchanting horse knows when she's flying, galloping, eating or being groomed and has different sound and light reactions based on what she's doing. With light-up wings, hooves and tiara, she makes magical sounds, too. And the more girls play with her, the more light and sound combinations she makes. Pretend she "flies" with golden wings, "gallops" with lightning speed, and whinnies lovingly as girls brush her long mane. Grooming brush and basket of grapes included. Requires 3 "AAA" batteries, included. |

Fun for little girls |
|
We bought this horse for our daughter's 5th birthday. She LOVES it. The wings come off every now and then, but it is easy to snap them back on. The noises and lights are great. This is great for pretend play and my daughter will play with it for hours at a time. Would highly recommend it! |

Surprisingly, one of the better Barbie toys. But expensive |
This was actually one of the better Barbie toys. After Mariposa (whose wings never stayed on or worked), the Elephant from Island Princess (which never caught one of the girls with its trunk and was boring), or even Princess Ro (whose peacock feathers never stayed on), this seems to be holding up well. And seems to be really enjoyed for beyond a single day by my daughter.
The play value is there - if you jiggle the horse in the air it prompts a flying sound. There is a little button at the bottom of a hoof so that if you push down on the horse, the button is pressed and the horse makes clip clop noises. If you push its mouth open, it sounds like it is eating (and will eventually make a sound like it doesn't like more). And if you leave it alone after playing with it, it will make sleeping noises. Unfortunately, as with all Barbie toys, there is always something that doesn't work. In the case of 'brushing' it with the comb (its supposed to make happy noises), it doesn't sense when you are combing and my 5 year old has to yank on the hair to get that particular sound out. And I really mean yank - which I'm not sure I like encouraging her to do to any animal. The horse also randomly plays the 'connected' song and lights up prettily.
I'd highly recommend this toy if only it wasn't so expensive. And let's be honest here, there are a LOT more toys that might be more interesting or educational than this one and for a lot cheaper. I would expect this to be priced around $35 to be a decent choice for a good toy value and product.
And surprisingly, I would have liked for better product placement in the video. This character is NOT in the dvd other than in the background being turned to stone with another horse behind two minor characters. When I bought the horse, I had thought there would have at least been a scene in the DVD that my daughter could relate to - but she asks me 'where is the Glimmer horsie in the movie?" and then asks which of the two horses in the background is Glimmer - and I can't tell. I had thought one of the main characters would have at least rode or been given the horse. The grapes that it eats seem pretty random. Perhaps Glimmer is in a book or other story place? |

Great toy for imagination |
|
I really like this toy because it is electronic and fun, but encourages imagination. The horse gallops or flies depending on how you play with it, so my daughter still needs to make her own choices on how to play. She gets to interact with the horse by feeding and grooming it too. Great fun. |

Awesome toy. |
My little cousin has been a long time Barbie fan all of her little life, and she absolutely loves this toy. It instantly became one of her favorite Barbie toys, probably because of the cute sparkly wings or the classic Barbie horse stylings. It also has very realistic and awe-inspiring neighing noises.
And its very durable. |

Great for the imagination! |
|
This toy is teriffic! It actually knows whether or not you are pretending that the horse (pegasus?) is flying or trotting, and makes the appropriate sound effects. The flying sound effects are really magical sounding! The hooves light up and make clopping sounds as it trots, and the horse will also make sound effects when you feed it and when you brush it's hair. It's a perfect gift for a little girl who's really into fantasy or horses. Love it! |
