In sixteen chilling tales of the supernatural, on 3 DVDs, New Dominion Picture's A Haunting, takes you inside real-life horror stories. The series originally aired on the Discovery Channel, and each eerie one-hour episode features eyewitness accounts and cinematic re-enactments of some of the most spine-tingling, ghostly hauntings ever recorded, filmed in the actual locations where these apparitions took place. They are all but guaranteed to spook even the most skeptical observer, but you can judge for yourself: are they imagined, or are they real? |

One of the best scary shows ever! |
|
I LOVE this show. I'm a huge fan of true ghost stories and have watched a lot of them. This is by far the best. They act out a true stories of hauntings and demonic possessions and they do a great job! The acting is decent and the stories will give you chills. I think the narrator does an excellent job. His voice alone is creepy. Sometimes, the real families speak in shadow because they don't want you to know their identity, which you can't blame. What I also appreciate about the show is that they're only telling you the story. They're not necessarily looking to fix the problem, like other shows like Paranormal State, which I also love. So sometimes, at the end, they're right back where they started because they can't always get rid of the haunting or possession. If you truly love true ghost stories and can stand to have chills...I highly recommend this show. |

Scary! |
|
Don't watch this if you're alone at night. As a long-time horror afficianado, I don't scare easily, but this series makes me want to look under the bed. Excellent dramatizations, slightly corny sound and visual effects, but they add to the emotional stimulus. If you like ghost/poltergeist stories, this is for you. |

Received sooner than expected |
Received the DVDs much sooner than expected - in 9 days rather than 1 month as indicated - and the defect of lack of narration has been solved. To my pleasant surprise, I'm able to play the DVDs on both my notebook and code 3 DVD player.
However, I give it a 4-star rating as I discovered a minor crack on the corner of one of the DVD casings but it's just a minor shipment defect, which I have no problem about it. |

ghostly facts |
I've been watching this show every afternoon on the Discovery Channel and I'm really surprised how scary the shows really are. Most of the stories are about people who move into homes, and after a couple weeks or so, discover certain events happen that can't be explained. Each story takes place over different parts of America (though sometimes they go overseas, such as one story taking place in Ireland).
Perfectly normal people going about their typical routine similar to you and me, however, they have to deal with contant unexplainable events such as lights flickering, shadow figures, waking up and hearing loud noises or seeing ghostly images, etc.
Each story contains enough detail to be different from the other ones. The fact that each story has different events happening means you can't predict when or how something unexplainable is going to happen, which in turn makes the shows that much more frightening.
All the stories are based off actual events, and sometimes there's even evidence by way of pictures or strange sounds from tape that back up what's been going on. Many of the stories deal with families where the children are the ones who are experiencing the events.
Highly recommended for horror fans. |
