Product Description
Buffy is sixteen years old and is the "chosen one" . She gets to kill vampires because it is her destiny to do so. She had a bad reputation at her old school in Los Angeles because she had burned the gym down. The principal at her new school at first rips up her records and then tapes her records back together again. Buffy tries to explain that the gym at her old school had to be burned down because it was full of vampires! Buffy and her mom just want a fresh start in their new suburban California home where the good part of town is half a block away from the bad part of town. In her new high school Buffy meets an eccentric librarian who knows that Buffy is the "chosen one". At first the librarian scares her away by showing her a book about vampires but then she returns to the library knowing that the librarian can help her out with fighting off vampires and other supernatural things.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA UPC: 024543233268 Manufacturer No: 2233326

Buffy's Darkest Season
This might be the strangest season of Buffy. The villains for most of the season are bumbling idiots (despite the fact that they're super-geniuses with demonology, magic, and robotics). This is the only season where the greatest challenges the Scooby Gang must face don't actually come from the "Big Bad." Instead, most of the serious problems that arise are a result of internal conflict. This is even true of the battle at the end of the season. Even though the crisis is set in motion by Warren of the Trio, the conflict is between members of the gang.

Without giving too much away, this season features the total loss of innocence for all of the main characters. This season is depressing, but it is probably the closest analogue of real life that the show ever has to offer. The characters in Buffy are not perfect people. They have their flaws, and they make some very bad choices (understatement!). Those that survive find ways to cope, and they carry on. I agree with some critics that it is difficult to watch our beloved Buffy characters self-destructing, but their behavior shows that they really are human. By the end of this season, all of the characters have gone through some huge changes. Season six isn't the most fun of all of the seven great years of Buffy, but it very well may end up being one of my favorites. The characters show that they really are incredible because they manage to face their own faults and demons in a way that few people can.

In the end, Buffy is an excellent show because it features clever humor, imaginative villains and dilemmas, exciting action sequences, and lots of hot chicks (Hey, you know that's part of it!). The reason Buffy is a great show is that the actors, writers, and directors really did an awesome job, and the characters are so very real.

Depressing & different, but good
Buffy Season Six is very different than what you have seen with the past five seasons. The show is much darker, more graphic, more intense. The main complaint about season six is the storyline.

Essentially, every character on the show becomes self-destructive. While this is something that does happen in life, watching these characters you know and love destroy themselves and each other is painful. All season you have to watch them go through pain and inflict pain. There is some good stuff in there, some of it is just tough to get through.

Season six is definitely my least favorite season, but if your a Buffy fan its still worth watching. But on thing is clear at this point in the show: Buffy ain't for kids anymore.

Just OUTSTANDING
I recieved this item extremely fast, and in great shape. Keep up the hard work. Those of us over here in Iraq appreciate it.

Buffy's Sixth Season
Six is my favorite season. Unlike most reviewers I loved the villians in this season. I thought the trio of nerds was more creative than just another rubber monster. Their "evil plots" brought forth humor and creativity with excellent word plays. The acting of the 3 nerds added realistic element, I have known several people like Andrew (creative, wishy washy, approval seeking) and Warren (smooth talker, manipulitive, ego centric) and of course everyone knows a Jonathan, (intelligent, wanting to be taken seriously but only tolerated by the in crowd so his talents could be used.) The "Big Bad" though was the main attraction this season.
Until Season Six I never paid much attention to Spike, what with the undeniable chemistry between Buffy & Angel. I had actually stopped watching Buffy after the fourth season because why bother when the heavy hitters were gone (Angel and Faith) I only recently watched seasons 5 through 7. Spikes character grew and changed so interestingly I rented all the episodes of Angel that featured him in it so I could follow his character to the end (and had the excellent suprise of seeing Andrews character morph into a really interesting personna).
James Marsters ability to convey an emotion with just a widening of his eye and a hint of a smile or a tear is fantastic. I was deeply moved by his reaction to Buffys resurrection and how subtly he played it.
Of the episodes that were tops in this season, ONCE MORE WITH FEELING tops the list (the music was so stuck in my head I had to buy the sountrack CD!) SMASHED, the episode that everyone considers so controversial is saved by Marsters acting, again the fluidity and depth of expression with subtle facial changes is what drew me in. The allegory of the house crumbling was beautiful, poetic. The most useless episode, that still managed to have some meaning (again thanks to Marsters, he gave a brief speech to Buffy worth hearing) was DOUBLE MEAT PALACE.
I loved the tie up of the loose end concerning Riley in AS YOU WERE. Normal Again was an excellent episode about choices.
All together there were so many plots and subplots that engaged me I bought seasons 4, 5, and 7 (mainly so I could trace the evolving character of Spike). This season is the bestand most worth owning since season 2 (Angel is the draw there and the story lines for all the characters are interesting). When I wear Season 6 out I hope to already own the back up!

Wonderful! Have you checked out the comic books?
I'm a big Buffy and Angel fan, so 5 stars goes without saying. But have you checked out the comic books? Finally season 8 by Joss Whedon!
