Is this even the same show?? |
|
I can't believe I am watching the same actors all together with "The Office" on the cover of this dvd set. Was this season written by different writers entirely? Wow. So bad. I am VERY disappointed. I've been looking forward to the release so I could watch this season. I am a huge fan and watched all 3 previous seasons over the weekend before recieving this set. It's awful. Seriously awful. Save your money. |

Overpriced, and some bobbles along the way, but still comedy gold |
Let's start with the good. The Office remains the best comedy on television, and this season is, on the whole, no exception. In a season clearly intended to draw out a large story arch, the characters are fleshed out in new and interesting ways. Michael soldiers on as the tragic hero, Jim and Pam develop in their relationship, and Angela and Dwight create yet another interesting couple dynamic to go with everything. The jokes are top notch, and you'll find yourself rolling laughing at points.
Now the bad... First, the box set packaging itself is a bit annoying. There's a bonus script included, a paper insert that really needs to be carefully slid into the sleeve alongside the dvds to fit snugly. Just an annoyance to deal with. And the season is definitely shorter for the price. Fewer episodes (because of the strike) and the same price feels wrong. On top of that, some of the episodes that were put out right after the strike struggle to find their way right off. The Dinner Party is a prime example.
On the balance, though, the huge pluses this series offers way outweigh the negatives. It's a top notch comedy that should be part of everyone's viewing schedule. |

I do love michael Scott so much. I relate to him so much. His mannerisms the stuff he does the stupid things he does etc. :D its like the writers know me. Every season he gets closer and closer to who i am. and you never know what the writers are going to do! i know this wasnt the best season, but it definitely has its moments. and if you guys want to save, by it at target this week (September 2-8th 2008) for only 29.99! it dodnt cost me a dime except tax because i used a gift card :D anyway Next season will be amazing because we'll get 30 episodes (we lost 8 last season so 8 plus 22 which is an average season is 30!!!! im so pumped september 25th!!! with no stupid interruptions :D so in time get this one to add some of the other seasons company : |

Making up for lost Profit |
|
I think that NBC, or whoever sells these dvds, is trying to make up for lost profits (fancy word for money) that were suffered during the writers' strike |

5 stars for the show, 0 for the DVD Set |
|
How can they expect to sell this as a full season DVD? I agree with the others who are not willing to pay regular price for this! It's insane how they are trying to take our hard earned money. They are making us pay for the strike, well I say NO! |
