I loved Batman Beyond when it was on Cartoon Network and was very unhappy when it ended/CN stopped showing it. I was quite excited to receive this! |

Cut short before its time... |
This series, as short as it was, rocked. Batman Beyond was an awesome continuation of the Batman mythos. The voice acting, writing, and animation were top notch for the time.
Even though the show was marketed at 13 year olds, much of the storyline writing was sophisticated enough to attract 20-30 somethings. Unfortunately, WB was short sighted and killed the show prematurely.
Kevin Conroy continued his voice work, making it gravel-laced for a truly impressive elder Bruce Wayne. |

Best of the 3 sets |
|
Batman Beyond Season 2 has some of the best episodes and features of the 3 Batman Beyond boxed sets. It's interesting to see the perspective the writers had on this series and the part it played in the development of Justice League. I highly recommend this series if you're a Batman fan or just like animated series with decent writing. |

This season was not a real good follow up |
The first season was something special. This one seemed to lose its focus on what made the first one great. Don't get me wrong, there are a few standout episodes. But it didn't capture and hold my interest the same.
Some of the episodes are filler to me and it really could have done alot better without the introduction of the new sidekick character. I felt this character was a waste and took away from the developing bond between Terry and Bruce. Some new villians are introduced but I didn't find any of those episodes too good. This season isn't bad but I think I expected a little too much. This is where I stopped and didn't continue further because I lost interest.
This collection contains 26 episodes in that dvd overlapped packaging, which I really dont like. And no new intro with unintersting extras. A Batman fan will own this anyway. Its good but nothing groundbreaking here. |
