Great to dance away the pounds! |
I agree this is not as good as the original Mousercise was. But it has good dance music to help you shed those unwanted pounds and will work to do that if you dance to it every day.
I would like to find the original again. When my son was just a few years old, we use to dance to the original Mousercise, and I lost 35 lbs. in just six weeks time. It was so much fun! And it will definitely bring back some great memories as well. Don't worry about the moves, just dance and enjoy yourself. |

Why not release original? |
|
I still dance to this music, my favorite is not included in the new album "Get the money, Uncle Scrooge's money". The sound quality on my cassette is fading, I really wished Disney would have put the original on CD not just for me but for the new generation to hear. |

This remake is not as good as the original. Don't bother buying it. |

Mousercise for the Dance Dance Revolution generation... |
I see a pattern in the reviews for this album. I too own the original album, you can actually find it on cd here on amazon, by the way, and love it! The songs were fun and catchy, they had a good beat and the excercise routines were easy to do.
The new album is NOT the old! It has club mixes of two of the songs from the first mousercise album (I Wan'na be like you, Ducks Dance too), and a few new songs (mousercise theme, chart of the heart, tigger-cise, Mickey's Workout). The rest of the songs are club mixes of popular Disney songs. All in all a fast paced fun album actually. I agree with one reviewer, there are a few songs that really were a stretch and shouldn't have been on here. "Whole new world" and "Beauty and the Beast" "Whole new world" come to mind. The album would have been better if they had really thought about the songs and not just thrown the most popular ones on here. Example..."One Jump ahead" instead of "whole new world" from Aladdin.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are no instructions as there was with the first album. There is a poster of a few excercises you can do, but they don't go with any of the songs. One of the songs, Mickey's Workout sounds wonderful and they talk you through the excercises but the moves are too complicated to just say. You would really need to see the moves done. Here is an example "Cross your left foot, Right behind your right foot, slide your right foot, over to the right, Right! Kick your left foot, Back in front your right foot, Slide your right foot, further to the right." If someone can do this on the first or second try I'd be amazed.
All in all it is a fun album. But I would definately recommend picking up the first version of Mousercise, or the foreign version of the remake (which has a lot of the old songs redone-19 in all), to go with this one. Treat the first Mousercise as a low level workout and this one as advanced.
And if you really want to here a few fun Disney albums, may I recommend the following?
Splash Dance (very very fun)
Mousercise (original)
Disco Mickey (fantastic!)

Disappointed - Sounds just like every other Disney CD. |
|
I agree with the former reviewer. I have fond memories of dancing to Mickey's Mousercise as a child. Half of the fun was following the charted choreography included with the album. (Mine was a record.:)) I teach preschool now and was SO excited to see this listed as a CD release. . . until I saw the song list and listened to them. What is "Part of Your World" doing on an "exercise" album? This CD has a few of the classic songs: Ducks Dance Too, I Wanna Be Like You. But the name is misleading. It's just another hopped-up re-release of Disney songs mostly. Where are the fun, choreographed songs like "Bug-A-Boo," and "Get the Money?" I am SO DISAPPOINTED!!! |
