The HJ-720ITC is powered by a replaceable lithium battery (CR2032) that will last six months when used for walking 10,000 steps a day. Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron Pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.
How does the PC software work?

Best Pedometer on the market! |
This pedometer is WELL worth the $28.92 that it's currently listed for! I bought one for my wife for her birthday last year. The first one disappeared into never-never land (though UPS said it was delivered), and all it took was a call to Americancivilwar and another one was on the way! GREAT service by Americancivilwar!!
As for the pedometer, my wife loves it! It has really helped her strive to meet a certain walking goal each day, and unlike other pedometers which measure just the number of steps taken, this one measures your time spent actually exercising and translates it to calories burned. And the software is nice, since you can easily upload your data and track your historical progress. Perhaps the only problem with this is that the face scratched fairly easily at one point, and the clip seems a bit weak. I think it's constantly coming unclipped, but my wife stuffs the tether strap in her pocket or waistband and it keeps it with her.

I saw the Omron Pedometer featured in Good Housekeeping with two other pedometers in an article. I chose this one because of the sale price, the software, and the Good Housekeeping recommendation. The article inspired me so that I purchased 7 of these for myself and 2 daughters entire families. It was very easy to set the pedometer, and software was easy to install, easy to download from the pedometer to the computer, and fun to see the progress. I highly recommend. Kids can love them too!! |

Best Pedometer I have found |
This pedometer is the best I have found and keeps a very accurate record of the daily steps you take. When combined with a great deal from Americancivilwar, ability to upload to the health management software, and ability to print for your records... its just a great product. Battery life is just as discribed - mine was almost 6 months to the day.
