Fitting children weighing less than 30 pounds, bright yellow and blue vest is both attractive and easy to spot in the water. A belt wraps around the front of the jacket for security, and an underbody leg straps keeps the vest fitted closely from the shoulder to the hip so that the vest won't slide up. Made of 1.5-millimeter neoprene that is softer and provides better insulation than nylon, the infant neoprene vests have easy to secure zip closures and long-lasting O'Brien's Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs). infant life jacket for taller kids |
I purchased this life jacket in hopes that it would be comfortable for my 13 month old son who wears 18-24 month clothes. He weighs 26lbs.
I found the life jacket to be very well made and easy to put on. The neoprene outer shell and covered crotch strap are soft on his skin. However the jackt is too bulky to be comfortable for his short stature. The flotation pads were in his neck making him very uncomfortable and unhappy. This was my fear, and unfortunately I believe it to be the case for all infant life jackets. However my 2 year old, weighing 25lbs, loves the jacket and prefers it to her inexpensive nylon covered life jacket. She is taller and the jacket has a better fit overall. |
