Just what I needed |
|
I was looking for a workout that would work specifically my legs and this is it!! I was very excited to start this program after I had heard it was a great workout from friends. I needed something that would help build muscle in my legs as I am trying to recover from ACL reconstruction surgery. Alot of the exercises I do in this workout resemble the ones I do in physical therapy and it really does workout the thighs, and every other muscle in the upper leg. Its a great workout and I cant wait to start the second DVD, and the third!!! |

Only for beginners |
|
This item comes pre-packaged with the GOfit kettlebells. they are basic beginner DVD's. If you really want to learn how to use your KB get Encyclopedia Of Kettlebell Lifting Series 1&2 - The Ultimate Instructional DVD Series On Kettlebells And The Definitive Russian Kettlebell Resource. By Steve Cotter. That rocks. I can not believe the audacity of Sara Lurie claiming to be the "expert". When she can do what Pavel or Steve Cotter can do then she can claim she's an expert. Besides Pavel is the one who introduced KBs to Americans. really Lame. |

Love this work out DVD |
I just love this DVD. I used to hate working out, now it's fun. It's easy to follow along, there are 30 second breaks between each rep (time for a quick sip of water, chance to catch your breath, or a super fast run to the potty) and it's consistent (she works the body the same number of times on the right as on the left, and counts properly - 8 is 8, 9 is 9, so on). Other tapes have been boring and inconsistent. I have Pavel's DVD and HATE it for that very reason. Pavel is condisending and inconsistent, plus they require additional equipment (two kettlebells, a stool, etc).
This DVD allows the beginner and intermediate to get a good workout, plus teaches the basic moves necessary to then go on and create your own workout. As you move up the kettlebell weights, you find that this work out keeps you progressing, but even with a low weight, you immediately feel better, and see results in short order. I have ordered this DVD for my mother and my daughter. They both love it too. |

Effective Workout |
Kettlebell workout is great if you're looking for something different. I'm new to Kettlebell and think this video is good for the beginner and intermediate. I have been using a 7lb kettlebell for the past month and am moving up to a 10lb kettlebell. From what I have read, beginners should use a weight no more than 10lbs and intermediates should begin with a 15lb. I haven't worked out in a while so found using the 7lb to be ok to start with.
The DVD starts with chapters showing how to do each exercise correctly, then there is a 54 minute circuit workout for you to follow along with(although the DVD says 46 min). There are 30 sec breaks between each workout, which seems unnecessary at first until you get through about half the workout, then you're happy for the breaks.
Volume 1 covers the basic exercises, 1 arm & 2 arm swing, clean, 1 arm press, front squat, windmill, 1 arm rows, also some ab workouts - which are just basic ab exercises done with the kettlebell between the ankles. The exercises are very easy but you will get a cardio workout and these exercises will also help with strengthening your balance.
This DVD is the same as the DVD that says it's the complete workout version that came out in 2005, that costs almost twice as much. Both are 54 minutes in length and contain the same exercises, which I didn't find out until after I had purchased.
