Customer Reviews for  'Air Pellet Rifle'

Good for the price
I received the first rifle and the sights were so bad off I had to have them send me another one. The second rifle was a lot better. For the price you pay for this, it is a pretty good rifle. However, I highly recommend purchasing a scope with it as it will make the rifle a lot better for aiming. Toolsnow customer service was very excellent. Got replacement rifle no problems and shipped fast.

A modern day bargin
I purchased this pellet rifle on a whim. Several of my fellow air rifle associates warned me this purchase was a mistake. Well for the $34.00 I spent on this solid wood stock & rifled barrel it outshines most $40.00 BB rifles. The underlever cocking system is a little akward @ first, but after 10 to 15 shots it starts to feel more natural. I didn't have any trouble sighting it in @ 50 yards & it has a fairly tight pattern with Crosman wadcutter pellets. The power seems to be in the 700fps range, making it powerful enuf to hunt small varmets with ease.

offshore .177 air pellet rifle
1st impression. Rifle looked solid (I did end up tightening the screws, etc after @ 250 rounds fired. might go as far as using "lock-tite" if i have to do it again). It does have the weight of an actual firearm which was good. Overall, i would say a good starter rifle for baisic purposes. Reason for "starter" designation... not easy to cycle (cock), and load, my wife had a hard time working the action & there is no "ramp" as far as loading goes so if you have larger hands/fingers it can be somewhat difficult to insert the ammo directly into the breech. Smooth bore on the barrel... if this barrel was rifled it would be well worth the $ (thus the saying, "you get what you pay for"), if i can find a gunsmith that can rifle this barrel it will be an excellent firearm, otherwise the acurracy..... is average for a smooth bore long gun (example... 20ft 4"x4" target, 6 shots @ 3-4" spread). Sights are average considering overall construction, have considered scoping but not much point when dealing w/smooth bore. The plus! Very good fps & penetration for a single cycle, not sure of velocity but with varied ammo i've managed to punch holes through a few different plate metals/plastics. If you can sight it and get consistent groupings firing it then i would say it'll make a good rodent threat. Overall, i'd rate it a decent value for the $, and if there is a rifled barrel version out there than get that one.

Good Deal!
I just recieved the pellet gun about two weeks ago and have taken close to a hundred shots. There are many good things about this product such as solid construction, ease of use, can be very accurate, plenty of power, and not bad looking. Why not five stars? Well first thing I noticed when taking it out of the box was a sliver of metal sticking out by the sight adjust ment which was easily removed with pliers. Next when I took it out and shot it for the first time I was happy with the amount of power (shoots though both cans and squirrels), but the sights weren't even close to accurate. The built in adjustments were not enough to make a shot within a foot of the bullseye. My pair of pliers took care of this problem when I bent the front sight over a fraction of an inch. Worked well after the adjustment. Also worked well with a small scope. The gun has no safety, and is a bit heavy so I would not recommend it for youngsters.

Overall after I have fixed a couple things I am very pleased with my purchase and have recommended one to my father for his red squirrel problem.

A Good 1st Air Rifle, but move on quickly from here.
Think of this rifle as like the piece of junk M-16 you had back in Basic Training. This rifle is practically perfect as a training tool for a 1st-time shooter. However, once the shooter has learned all the safety procedures and is focused on learning the finer points of marksmanship fundamentals this rifle will quickly prove to be a disappointment. Unlike a Daisy BB gun, this is a true rifle, so I think it is a much better value than a 'Red Rider'.
