Americancivilwar.com Product Description
Sleek, lightweight, and elegant and free of wires, this slim wireless bicycle computer displays current speed, maximum speed (up to 65 mph), average speed, trip distance, second-trip distance, total distance, elapsed time, and 12/24-hour clock. The dual trip-distance functions keep track of intermediate or multi-day distances. For ease of use even on rough terrain, simply pressing the bottom of the screen toggles through the computer's modes. The selected mode displays at the bottom of the screen, while current speed appears at the top in large, easy-to-read numerals. An up/down arrow compares current speed to average speed.

Other features include dual tire size, programmable odometer, pace arrow, automatic start/stop, and automatic power-saving mode. The computer runs on two CR2032 batteries (included), one for the head unit and the other for the sensor. Maximum wireless transmission distance is 27 inches. The computer's tool-free bracket mounts quickly on virtually any handlebar or stem. The tool-free sensor mounts easily to the fork. Like all Cateye bicycle computers, this one is ultrasonically welded and water-resistant.

Specifications:

  • Handlebar mount size: 22-31.8 mm
  • Fork mount size: 11-55 mm
  • Batteries: CR2032 (two included; for head unit and sensor)
  • Maximum wireless transmission distance: 27" (70 cm)

Tiny for it's features
This is first bicycle computer I've had and was quiet surprised how small and light this thing is.
The speed accuracy is also impressive (I've checked it with police radars on streets).

From all the positive things about this computer there are a few negatives:
1) it has no light - can't use in the dark
2) it's clock is incredibly inaccurate (I've set it up with atomic clock, after 3 months it was 4 minutes late).
3) you have to reset trip data when timer hits about 27 hours or 999.99 km otherwise instead of average speed it shows "E" (error).
4) if magnet left next to the transmitter (odds are very slim, one should buy a lottery ticket if that happens) the computer doesn't go standby
5) very hard take the unit off the bracket without pressing the button

These 5 cons are very minor for not buying this computer.

I would recommend it to my friends.

Works great but don't take it off too much.
I've had this product for about a month now & it works great, the only problem is that the bracket that attaches to the back of the computer to the bike broke from taking it off & putting it back on so i had to order replacement brackets, so I would suggest not taking it off too much.

Nice compact bike computer.
I'm not a professional rider by any means but I did want to see how much I was riding so I decided on the Cateye brand for a bicycle computer. The only problem I had setting it up was figuring out my tire size. I had to pick the closest one listed on the instructions since my exact size wasn't listed. Set up was rather easy otherwise and if you just read the instructions, the installation is very easy. I find it easy to operate but don't lose the instructions. You'll forget how to set it up if the battery ever dies!

bike computer
Excellent product. Easy to install.....Written installation instructions can be overwhelming for someone with no previous experience, due to the amount of written information in small font, crammed into a small space. Wish that the computer display window was larger. Overall, very satisfied with the product.

Excellent Cyclocomputer
Installation was quite easy. It is worth the trouble to download the user manual from cateye.com however. The font size on the included sheets is a strain to read.

While the handlebar/stem mounting bracket is great, it is possible to over-tighten the bracket which may cause the "touch screen" functionality to not work correctly or at all.

On my last two rides the trip data has spontaneously reset to zero. The "touch screen" feature is really an electro-mechanical operation of a button on the back of the computer when one presses on the bottom of the unit. I suspect that I may still have the bracket a little tight. I have asked Cateye for an explanation of other possible reasons for this "spontaneous reset" but they have not yet had a chance to reply.
