Q&A - Pedometers
Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron Pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.
How does the PC software work?
The HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer includes PC software for Windows 2000 or XP. It keeps track of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly progress.

very nice pedometer |
I bought this pedometer to replace a different brand that I've had for years. I've been very pleased with this one. It counts steps and calories, calculates distance, and even has a very nifty counter for aerobic steps, so that you don't fool yourself into thinking walking around the grocery store counts as aerobic exercise. You can check the last seven days on the pedometer's screen, and it keeps something like the last forty available for uploading in its memory, which is very handy. I've had it for about a month and so far I've had no problems at all with the software. The program it uses is very nifty, and you can see all your exercise statistics graphed in a variety of ways.
It also seems to be extremely accurate - I tested it a number of times against my older one and they were always within a few steps of each other.
My one complaint, which is not enough to give it less stars, is that it's a little big. I keep it in a pocket, and use the lanyard clip. However, if I don't have a pocket and use the waistband clip, it's REALLY bulky. I think they need to make the clip a little smaller. |

Steping up to good health |
This pedometer is easy to setup and has a great computer program that compliments Omron's blood pressure monitor.
You can customize a graph that shows your blood pressure and daily exercise.
After having 5 stents and two balloon procedures done to my heart and high blood pressure along with diabetes, I need all the tools I can get to get back to a healthy life.
