With slightly more speed than some models, the Butterfly Seemiller Table Tennis Racket is for the all-around player who likes to mix in powerful drives or smashes when the opportunity arises. The combination of Wakaba rubber and two-millimeter sponge gives you great spin, speed, and control. Lightweight and well-balanced, the Seemiller is constructed of five-ply Akazie wood and features an anatomic pro-style handle. This racket is approved by the USATT and ITTF. About Butterfly Hikosuke Tamasu founded Tamasu Co., Ltd. in the small town of Yanai City, Japan in 1950. This was the beginning of a company career which is almost unique in table tennis. A renowned international for Japan, Tamasu fulfilled his dream of a lifetime when he made his hobby his profession. At that time, he could hardly imagine that he would make Butterfly the leading brand worldwide. Creativity, durability, and a profound technical knowledge meant success. 0ver and over again he looked for new possibilities in order to optimize techniques by innovative playing material. Tamasu realized that each player is different and has strengths and weaknesses. By offering individual playing material Tamasu wanted to help players right from the beginning to emphasize their individuality. Since 1983 Butterfly has its own training and research center in Tokyo. Highly qualified scientists co-operate with world class players and coaches for the development of rubber and blade technology. Butterfly's rubbers and blades are used by more than half of the participants at World and European Championships. |

control wins! |
I play with a lot of guys who love the big, fast power shots and another set of guys who love to play the loop/spin game game.
From day 1 of getting this paddle I've been able to switch to a defensive mode and shut their game down. I was able to effortlessly block the power shots or nullify the spin game. One guy remembers saying that he saw high spin ball returned him with no spin as the words on the ball faced him the entire loop back to his side.
This control paddle also has been helping counteract my own wide, inexperienced hits. I've been able to learn how to reduce the arch of my swings and get more accurate with the placement of my shots.
When I need to, this paddle allows for the quick snap shots or counter-spins too.
I've been extremely happy with this paddle and would recommend for any player's arsenal.
The only downside, is by playing & cleaning this regularly the stickiness has worn away, so I'd get the extra sheets to reapply. Even without the stickiness its a very good paddle.
I'm now confident enough to try getting more aggressive with my own game. I'll probably add a Chui paddle and keep this one for those big hit opponents. |

Good racket |
It is a good racket.
Good handling and spining.
But there is no case. |

Seemiller nice but a bit heavy |
|
I like the racket but it is a bit heavier then I expected. I find it easier to return spikes but a bit harder to spike it myself with this racket. Spin is very good and I wish I could try other paddles but they are not cheap for a recreational player like myself. |

Great!! |
I got this paddle a little over 1 year ago. It was my first step up from the cheap paddles that come in 4 packs at Dick's Sporting Goods. My friend had just started to teach me spin and stuff, so he recommended that I buy a butterfly paddle. I did some research and decided to buy this paddle. A year later, I am very happy that I made this purchase. It has helped me to develop my game further and improve my spin and control. It broke a week or two ago, though, which is the reason it lost a star.
This paddle can do everything pretty well. It spins the ball well (much better than my old rackets, though I'm hoping to buy an even spinnier one) and it has GREAT control, especially after using it for a year and getting used to it.
Now, I'm looking to buy a new racket (because mine broke) and will probably be buying the Carlos Chiu racket. Overall, I would reccomend the Seemiller racket to any begineer/intermediate player who is looking for a solid, all around paddle.
P.S. It also slams the ball great. |

Good All Around Racket |
This is a good racket for all around players that don't want to spend more than $40 on a paddle. I played with mine for the past few years and have been satified with it. It stayed in good shape and it wasn't until recently (after about 500 games) that I really started to notice the spin and speed were gone. It also helped me define my strengths as a player which made it easier to choose the paddle that was right for me.
If you are a good player that has an agressive style of play you are better off choosing the Carlos Chui paddle for the additional speed and spin. That paddle produces a lot of top spin which has helped me hit more winners and make less errors on smashes. |
