Way to much micromanaging |
|
For my taste there is too much to micromanage. The game play, graphics etc are very good however. Also, as others have said, this game is mainly for multiplayer online play. In the campaigns, The AI is fairly robust. If you like to micromanage everything I think you will like this game, if not I'd pass. I prefer Company of Heroes. |

Mixed Feelings on this Clunker! |
I really appreciate where the developers were going with this game, but I think they missed the mark by a bit, much like the soldiers in this game often do.
Pros:
*Very good graphics!
*Decent music & SFX!
*Fairly easy to master interface!
*Lots of content & Replayability!
*VERY strategy based (this can be a con, too, I suppose, depending on your taste)
Cons:
*Difficult to tell who's on whose side!
*Impossible to bond with your crew since none carry over to other missions, nor are any of the much needed RPG elements that would make this game more interesting and enjoyable.
*Repetitive, annoying voice acting.
*The interface is fairly easy to master, as I said, but it's very badly designed nonetheless.
*Not nearly as "IN THE ACTION!" as they'd have you think.
*It's basically like every other boring war strategy game on the market, except you only control a few soldiers and they can pick up some objects and have a few more in-depth actions. WHOOOPEEEE.
*Some missions are TERRRIBLY DESIGNED!
Overall, I'd say leave it on the shelf. They didn't really bring anything new to the field. If you're looking for an innovative, exciting FPS/RPG/Strategy feast, look elsewhere. This is just another point, click, watch, strategy army game. Not bad, but not remarkable either.
On one final note, I went through a mission, and, near the end, realized that I'd killed all of my ally russians thinking they were enemy germans. Hm. I also watched one level mission play itself without me. Hmmm. |

BAD Interface and BAD Game |
The two stars are only for its graphics.
If Company of Heroes rate 4.5/5 this game rates 2/5.
Except for Graphics, the rest of the game is BAD.
The interface is clunky.
You cannot save your missions, you cannot exit and resume.

Jagged Alliance meets RTS |
Great tactical game, where you control inventory and "man" a vast arsenal of equipment. To boot you can capture equipment from enemy and use it against them. The graphics are nice, and everything (but bunkers) can be destroyed. Nice strong missions, and no base management, just pure meaty tactical bliss.
What it lacks:
Teams don't carry over from mission to mission
No leveling your squads
Interface is not the most elegant
Despite these lowlights, this is a amazing game and not many these days offer this kind of tactical depth and fun.

Average Game Play |
|
This is just an average game. Moving around the screen is jerky on my computer. |
