I've had this calibrator for just under a year. It has never been updated for use with the current Apple OS, and has recently started producing a strong magenta cast. I'm afraid it's going to be throw out - I certainly won't be buying anything from X-Rite / Greta Macbeth again. I suggest looking at the Spyder 3 series. |

Pantone is fixing the issue of color cast now |

I bought Pantone Huey Pro back to April this year. It worked good before it suddenly had a color cast from two weeks ago. I searched web and found that it happened to a lot of users. Pantone has been aware of this bug and trying to fix. I used their online system to report this issue one week ago and got a reply today. They offer me an eyeone display2 as a replacement. Will see if this one can solve the issue. |

Pretty straight forward set up.. just waiting for more prints |
The setup on this product was very simple. I did not see a huge difference in the "corrected" profile it created for my vista machine. I did have 5 prints made from a pro lab and the shots came back looking extremely close to my monitor.
overall I would recommentd this product, especially for the price paid.

I purchased this item, when it came in I hooked it up and started to calibrate. I immediately noticed the colors did not seem right. After a week of messing up pictures I called into Pantone tech support and discovered this product has a hardware bug that causes a green color cast on some monitors. I have a Samsung Syncmaster 2253bw and it is one of them. As of this writing they say it "might" be fixed within a month but can't guarantee it. I have been out time and money and looks like a have to get another calibration system - I just wanted to let people know before they end up like my situation. |

Good, Inexpensive Calibration (While It Worked) |
Our Huey Pro worked great for over a year. Then, all of a sudden, calibrations started leaving the screen a vivid pink color. I searched Pantone's support site (search for color cast) and found that they are aware that some units have this problem and are replacing them. You just open a ticket, include your serial number, some system info and your address, and they will send you a new unit. The bad news is that they are out of stock right now and don't expect to have them in stock until the end of July 2008. So we'll have to wait. I know this because I called their support number and after pressing only one number to get to support, an actual person answered the phone (with no hold - I know - shocking, isn't it?) and told me the status in a very frank and honest manner.
So even though ours is currently broken, I still give the product 4 stars because it's much more affordable than any other color calibration system I've seen and (when it was working) it did the job (at least all I needed). And now that we're having a problem, they are going to replace the unit with no hassles regarding warranty periods, etc.
