Product Description |
Conquest is never final and the scope of your level of command is tested again and again. The Command & Conquer saga continues with this expansion pack for owners of Command & Conquer 3. RTS - Real Time Strategy pops up to new levels of reality where command is more sophisticated than ever. And the benefits or consequences of your actions become more intense. Expand the story and move forth as Kanes wrath burns hotter. The single player campaign allows Command and Conquer 3 players to experience a new story that spans 20 years - from the rebirth of the Brotherhood of Nod after the Second Tiberium War through the dramatic events of the Third Tiberium War and beyond. The story is told through a new set of high-definition live action video sequences starring a celebrity cast. Joe Kucan, the original actor who portrayed the character Kane in Command and Conquer games over the last decade, will reprise his role as the megalomaniacal leader of the Brotherhood of Nod. The expansion pack to the original Command and Conquer (Tiberian Wars) features a new strategic layer to gameplay that allows players to establish bases, build customized armies, and attack their enemies on a global scale - and then dive into the frenzied tactical combat where their skills as a commander will make the difference in battle. The game also introduces six new sub-factions and a wealth of new units, structures, and powers to the armies of the Global Defence Initiative, the Brotherhood of Nod, and the enigmatic alien Scrin. |

More of the same... Exactly the point! |
|
No need to go into detail. If you're considering this expansion you know what's coming. There's more poorly acted video clips, fast action, and fantastic game play. Kane's mask was so cheesy I laughed out loud. If you played and enjoyed C&C 3 this is required stuff. The "Add to Shopping Cart" button is right there at the top right ;-) |

Very Entertaining Expansion |
Though this may be a spoiler it's rather an explanation - the campaign is told entirely from Nod's point of view. It details behind the scenes events and leads up to another sequel at the end.
Is it fun? Yes. Is it oh-my-god-this-is-amazing? Not really. The campaign, depending upon difficulty versus skill level with RTS games, can range from incredibly easy to moderately tough.
Onto the more important information - game play. Overall, the six factions are balanced rather well for it accommodates several play styles for each of the three major factions - fast attack rush tactics, expensive and incredibly durable steamrollers and a middle ground behind the main factions of GDI, Nod, and Scrin.
I've played each faction and each has its ups and downs that can if the player doesn't fully understand each faction's favored play style, may end up being the nail in his coffin. I suggest playing skirmish before trying online play. |

Fun Fun Fun |
I am c&c fan so I am not sure I am objective.
I like the game and new units added.. |

Disappointing |
I bought this game recently and had finished the story version in just a few hours. The missions are boring and easy: usually the "trick" is immediately evident and it takes very little strategy to beat the AI.
About a quarter of the missions are commando missions so you miss the fun of building a base and laying it to the enemy. No use of superweapons in the main story. Very little challenge compared to the regular C&C3 or Generals.
Also, the video sequences had very soft audio and loud music on my system... It was nearly impossible to hear what the actors were saying. I skipped most of the sequences for this reason. No matter how I changed the settings, I couldn't seem to get good audio.

Vista Home Premium 64bit Support |
The product specifically states that Windows 64 bit is not supported. I am running Vista Home Premium 64 bit and this game runs beautifully. No Crashes, No Lags and No Errors of any sort.
The multi player component leaves a lot to be desired.
As for the game, new faction additions add a certain spice that is better best savored playing it. Visually vibrant and fun to play. Am loving it! |
