Not Your Average Hood Tale |

Mr. McCaulsky will draw the curious reader in with this provocative book cover, but don't be fooled; just like the main character Janelle/Monique, you can't judge it by the cover. Don't get me wrong, there are some very hot steamy scenes in here, but there is depth to these characters and a vivid story being told. This author does a great job bringing life to his characters. They are quite real and relatable in some way to most. You'll find you won't be able to put this book down.(at least not for very long) Great work Marlon McCaulsky! |

I LOVED THIS BOOK! You think Janelle a.k.a Mo'Nique is just the typical stripper but she isn't. Under all the heavy make-up and sexy dance moves she is a good girl just trying her best to survive. Then she meets Jayson and her whole life is turned around, as well as his. Crazy drama! If you haven't read this already you need to get ASAP. Loved it!! |

This book was a drag. Not very interesting at all, and it does not protray what the title means. Couldn't get into the characters at all. This book did not pickup until the middle of the story. |

This was an okay read there were far too many characters involved in the book. I lost interest when the book kept jumping from person to person that is very irritating because the book ends up being about several peoples lives. The book is not just about Janelle aka MoNique like the description says, its about everyone and they mama. There were some good parts but very few. The book was boring all together. |
