Product Description
After fleeing Los Angeles when her attempt to break up her best friend's marriage fails, Jasmine is now a changed woman...and a Christian. She vows to attend church every Sunday, swears off married men, and begins her search for the soul mate she is sure God has for her. Now living in the Big Apple, she has shed twenty-five pounds, shaved ten years off her age, filled her expensive apartment with designer clothes...all to begin her man-finding mission.

She quickly meets her dream mate -- a preacher -- who falls head over heels in love with her. Surely, God is good! But things start slipping when another man from Jasmine's past refuses to stay there, and an unexpected pregnancy threatens to sabotage all of her dreams. Will Jasmine's lying and scheming continue? Or will she finally learn that honesty is the only path to redemption?

Great Book
I read this book in 3 days. It's great story about trust, lies, and forgiveness.

A Shame I haven't read this before now!
Jasmine Larson believes she's finally got it all together. She has started taking her christian walk more seriously. She's stopped dating married men and she started attending church more regularly. Jasmine in a new town in her new apartment. She has lost weight and bought a whole new wardrobe. She has a great job and the support of her sister Serena and God brother Malik. Everything she needs to find her a man to settle down and find love.

Hosea Bush is a minister following in his father's footsteps who wants nothing more than to find a wife, settle down and raise a family. His once estranged relationship with his father is just the amuition Jasmine needs to get Hosea to fall in love with her despite the disapproval of the Rev. H. Samuel Bush. Who just so happens to be the minister of her new church home and the once object of Jasmine's conquest to find a new husband!

Jasmine's news of pregnancy brought nothing but JOY, but will it also be the key to her undoing?

Definitely a must read. Awesomely written!

Tricking Ain't Easy

In this sequel, Jasmine Larson is off to a journey of old tricks. She's back and much more seductive then ever. She moved to New York to start a career with her God brother Malik. In the mist of opening club Rio, Jasmine visits City of Lights, the church Malik attends and tries to seduce Reverend Bush. When Reverend Bush pays her no never mind, she accidentally bumps into his son, Hosea Bush, traveling between business meetings held in Los Angeles and New York. After giving Hosea a fake phone number on the plane back to New York, she'd recognized his voice from the pulpit of the church she had now claimed to being a member of. She had then realized that this was not only the man she had no interest just days ago but he was also the Reverend's son. Her intentions now revolved around getting Hosea into bed and having him accompany her at the altar for marriage.

Jasmine's plan worked out just fine until a man from her past; Mr. Brian Lewis, the best friend of the last married man she had laid with from the sizzling first hit Temptation, crept into her life. Before you know it, Brian was showing up every where Jasmine was to indulge intimately. Jasmine blamed this act of lust on the fact that Hosea wanted to honor her by going on the word of God, which meant no sex until after marriage.

As God's grace and mercy gained glory in this storyline the spirit of the Lord spoke out to Hosea as he was going through pain that led him and now Mrs. Jasmine Larson Bush towards divorce. To learn more about the lust, lies and tricks Jasmine poured out to the City of Lights members, you should purchase and read this book for yet another rewarding lesson that Mrs. Victoria Christopher Murray is adapt to bringing her audience.

I guess Temptation is the only VCM book I like *Possible spoiler*
Let me first say that JOY was the first book I read by this author. Was not impressed and said so on Americancivilwar. One of VCM's fans told me I didn't know what I was talking about, but whatever.

So, a friend and I were talking at work, and she mentioned Temptation. I had seen the book in the library many times and Americancivilwar always recommended it, but based on my experience w/Joy, I kept passing it up. Well, on my friend's recommendation, I check it out, and I finished it in one day! Loved it! It had all the elements of a good story: character driven, easy to follow storyline, just enough characters, etc. It's now one of the books I must buy for my personal library.

Thought I'd give VCM another shot and I read Ex-Files. Ended up skimming through that entire book. Very predictable and one of the characters (rhymes with Malaysia) disgusted me to no end. So that was 1 out of 3 that I liked...

Moving on to Sin and a Shame. I couldn't stand Jasmine's crazy self from the first book, but I decided to see what she was up to and if she really changed...She was ridiculous from beginning to end in this one. I don't think Hosea had all that much of a personality (he didn't seem to be a fleshed out character), but he didn't deserve what she did, and unless I missed it (I did start skimming pgs), she still didn't tell him the whole truth about herself! She ended up happy while still holding secrets. I agree w/another poster, the ending was too predictable, and I would have been more satisfied had she had to deal with the consequences of her actions that took up the majority of the book. It wrapped up too neatly to be believable, and the only excuse would be another book featuring Jasmine to delve into what happened after.

So I've only liked 1 out of the 4 books that I've read, and I'm not motivated to read the rest. Which is a shame b/c Temptation was soooo good.
