Product Description |
Wearing her shades, a black Stetson, and snakeskin cowboy boots, security agent Maxine "Max" Blake is the baddest thing walking. Ex-marine, ex-cop, and a whole lotta 'tude, Max doesn't have time for anything but her job. Her latest assignment: to protect Dr. Adam Gary. Her problem: he doesn't want her there. Adam wants to focus on his work, not to be distracted by this tall, sexy woman. A foiled kidnapping attempt may have forced him to take an undercover agent into his household, but no one said anything about the agent being a woman, or that she'd be beautiful, or that she came with two monster rottweilers. How is he supposed to concentrate on his top-secret project that could revolutionize the world when all he can think about is her smooth, coffee-colored skin and those long, lean legs? But as danger nips at their heels, love may be a distraction neither of them will live to enjoy . . . |

Fun |
I give this book a five star. Max and Dr. Adam Gary and the Dogs. This is the first none historical romance of Ms. Jenkins I have read. I loved it. She did a good job, though I did not get an education like she usually does. However, she did tell us about Jinga the Angolan queen who fought the Portuguese for 30 years. She also referenced the Max character, great-great granny Lorelei who was a major character in a previous book. She has done a good job. I highly recommend. Her books are easy reads and enjoyable.
Con:
I am trying to make sense again y'all. She and Adam are running from killers. Adam is a scientist that has developed a prototype that can make fossil fuel unnecessary.
A group of Afrikaners, Europeans who live in South Africa, want the Doctor's prototype. They have the latest resources and technology to track their movements. She drives to a gas station and swipes her card. Now y'all that just doesn't make sense. She is telling the killers where she is and the direction of their movements.
The author has already told the reader how smart and savvy Max is, but she allows her to make a fatal and obvious mistake? Why dat?
Anyway, I highly recommend this fun and fast paced read.

Review of Sexy/Dangerous by Beverly Jenkins |
|
I have truly become a Beverly Jenkins fan, thanks to Sexy/Dangerous. Ms. Jenkins hooked me right away with her characters, Maxine "Max" Blake and Dr. Adam Gary. Max is a beautiful, green-eyed kick-butt security agent who is capably aided by her two super-intelligent Rottweiler companion guard dogs. She is sent to protect Dr. Adam Gary, a genius scientist who proves he is not only intelligent but strong and fully capable of fighting off kidnappers. In spite of this, he is reluctantly placed under Max's care and right away you can feel the sparks fly. I loved how Ms. Jenkins mixed action with hot, sexy romance and I also enjoyed her references to characters from not only her previous romantic suspense books but also to her historical romance books. Truly worth the read. |

I fell in love with Max and Adam's story. Romantic suspense is my genre and BJ did a wonderful job. When you read a book or watch a movie, they are supposed to bring out different emotions, and this book did that. This was an engaging read that provided hours of pleasure. |
