Product Description
Making, decorating, and furnishing dollhouses has become an international passion over the last twenty-five years. A perennial area of interest is how to achieve authentic period character in dollhouse exteriors and interiors. In this book, leading dollhouse specialist Michal Morse presents more than forty interiors decorated in wide-ranging styles-from fifteenth-century Tudor to twentieth-century suburban.

Here you will find inspiration to create your own authentic period dollhouse in one-twelfth scale-the scale used for serious collectors of all ages. Learn to recognize the characteristics of each period and place your dollhouse in historical context. Discover how to customize your dollhouse with bay windows, porches, a brick finish, or even roof detail, all with meticulous step-by-step instruction. Plus, discover the essential feature of every dollhouse.

With this comprehensive guide, miniature hobbyists won't need special skills or a sophisticated workshop; Morse clearly illustrates every stage of construction, from planning the foundation to hanging miniature glass chandeliers.

Based on eight houses designed and furnished in exacting detail by the author herself, Decorate A Doll's House offers a rich and fascinating social history in miniature-an essential guide for collectors of all ages that is sure to appeal to craftspeople of every nature and ability.

Customer Reviews for  'Decorate a Doll's House: Authentic Period Styles from 1630 to the Present Day'

Interesting book
The book has alot of period houses and interiors to look at. The picture detailing is great but the book lacks alot of instruction. What instruction it has is informative but is inconsistant. I only recommend this if you are very artistic and creative already and can figure out how to create these lovely houses.
