Editorial Reviews for  'Mapping the Social Landscape: Readings in Sociology'

Product Description
Drawing from a wide selection of classic and contemporary works, the 60 selections in this best-selling reader represent a plurality of voices and views within sociology. In addition to classic works by authors such as Karl Marx, Max Weber, C. Wright Mills, David Rosenhan, Kingsley Davis and Wilbert Moore, this anthology presents a wide range of contemporary scholarship, some of which provides new treatments of traditional concepts. By integrating issues of diversity throughout the book, Ferguson helps students see the inter-relationships of race, social class, and gender, and the ways in which they have shaped the experiences of all people in society.

Customer Reviews for  'Mapping the Social Landscape: Readings in Sociology'

Used for a Sociology 101 class
It was ok, served it's purpose. as a textbook it was good, as a regular book I think it would be considered rather bland.

very satisfied
very happy with this purchase. book was practically new and arrived in a timely manner. very satisfied

A very thought provoking book
I read this book for a sociology class and thought it was very very good. It has many short stories which are very thought provoking and deal with very important issues, problems and observations in our society. It speaks about crime, socialization, culture, groups, social inequality, the economy, social change etc. These seem like technical terms but it is a very easy to read and straight forward book. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
