Product Description
That Ruby! Wherever she goes, table cloths accidentally pull dishes to the floor, flowers get trampled and spaghetti somehow end up in her hair. You can't take Ruby anywhere! One sunny morning, the postman brings Ruby an amazing invitation to have tea with -- the Queen! Ruby had better polish her manners and quickly. Will Ruby really be ready in time?

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Robin Preiss Glasser know a thing or two about the importance of manners and poise and being ladylike. In Tea For Ruby, they have created the irrepressible Ruby, whose antics and foibles with touch readers' hearts as she tries her very best to do things correctly. In the end, she knows she is loved for who she is, and that she will always be a princess, royal or not!

Sweet Girls' Book with a bit of a manners tutorial
I put this on my daughter's holiday wish list and one of her Aunts got it for her. She loves Fancy Nancy and the cover reminded me of that book. The art work is amazing, the colors so pretty and fun. The plot, simply a little girl so excited to have been invited to have tea with the Queen that she is compelled to tell everyone and anyone, no matter what is happening. As she shares her exciting news in school, on the playground, in dance class and to her family, she commits a series of socail snafus; she talks with her mouth full, she interrupts, she is too loud, etc. She is reminded to have good manners when she has tea with the Queen. At the end she learns that her own grandmother has invited her to have tea, what a special treat. The book really illustrates how young children see the world revolving around them and nothing else and serves to teach its readers that manners are important. There is a lot of repetition in the text which works well for my 2 1/2 year old daughter who after just a few reads already knows much of the book by heart. Fancy Nancy is still her favorite but she really likes Ruby too.

Great book for Girls
I gave this book to my nieces and they love it. I didn't care much for the story line but the girls really enjoyed it. So if they like it than i like it as well.

Spring Board
Great for a spring board to a discussion on basic manners for kids. Speaks of welcoming guests, avoiding interruptions and not talking with you mouth full. Very colorful and beautiful, though busy, illustrations.

A pleasant little story
Ruby received an invitation in the mail, but it's not just any invitation. The postman brings an invitation for Ruby to have tea with...The Queen!

Understandably, Ruby is very excited. She is so excited, in fact, that she tells everyone she knows, actually everyone she sees, "I have been invited to have tea with...The Queen!" Apparently, Ruby's acquaintances already know a great deal about her and admonish her in a number of ways to be polite, mind her manners, and so forth.

The day finally arrives when Ruby is to have tea with the Queen. Ruby awakens and is very excited. There is, however, a very pleasant surprise in store for Ruby. Of course, Ruby is a perfectly wonderful little lady while having tea with the "Queen."

Nicely illustrated and simply written, `Tea For Ruby' is a pleasant little story about something to which a little girl looks forward and how a young lady should behave in a social situation. The repetition is fun for the young reader - or listener, and the moral is straightforward and useful.

Nana in Ukiah
I bought this as a gift for my granddaughter who loves Fancy Nancy. I really liked it. She hasn't seen it yet.
