Product Description |
In the much-anticipated follow-up to his 2002 international triumph The Sea, photographer Philip Plisson figuratively widens his lens to provide a more global focus on the sea and the humans who depend on it for survival.
As magnificent as its predecessor, The Eternal Sea includes more than 200 new and unpublished images of oceans in more than 50 countries, seen close to the surface or from the air. Marine expert Christian Buchet’s accompanying text incisively examines many contemporary environmental issues affecting oceans around the world. Featuring 12 spectacular gatefolds, The Eternal Sea continues to surprise and beguile the reader with breathtaking images illustrating the beauty, fury, and sheer ecological importance of the ocean. |

Review - The Eternal Sea |
|
The Eternal Sea is filled with gorgeous photography and fascinating information about the world's oceans. The book far surpassed my expectations both in quality of bindings, paper, etc. and in subject/chapter arrangement and content. I bought it for one of my husband's Christmas presents and he just loves it. This is a volume to be treasured and handed down. |

Not impressed with the photography |
|
This book reminded me of a National Geographic magazine, just not as good. For the size of the book I figured it would be filled with amazing stunning colorful original shots. It is not. It is a lot of aerial shots. There are some good images but the book is not worth buying for me at least. |
