5 *'s and I'll tell you why...
I loved the two main characters. Why, becuase they are the same yet different. All the characteristics you love about paranormal characters, strength, beauty and whatever special power their species has, but not what makes some of the paranormal series boring after awhile. The characters were different enough to make really keep themselves, the book and the series interesting. DAMIEN had surprise after surprise in it and I thank Jacquelyn Frank for that. I will not spoil any of them for the reader. I say buy the book and judge for yourself. I really enjoyed this refreshing book.

THE MUSE HAS NOT DESERTED JACQUELYN FRANK; SHE STILL DESERVES A NUMBER ONE RANK!
Jacquelyn Frank and creativity are synonymous. Her Nightwalker Series demonstrates an amazing grasp of the paranormal genre. The fourth book in the series tells of Damien, the reigning Vampire Prince, who tires of the pleasures of the world, devotes his energies to protecting his people.

Ruth, the rogue demon, returns and captures the lycanthrope Princess Syreena. Damien rescues her, and they agree to combine forces to fight Ruth and her gathering army.

As per usual with Frank's books, the plot is clear, the action exciting, the romance erotic, and when you have finished the book, you may find yourself looking for the nexr one, which will be 'Noah' in the Fall.

In a literary environment where we are steeped in tales of the supernatural, the paranormal, hunters and huntresses of all kinds and mega magical beings, it becomes important to the reader to latch onto the authors that are pleasing to him/her and may contine to be OR NOT!!!

But for me Frank never ceases to entertain!!!!

Another excellent book in the series!
Oh, how I am loving this series! The action, in or out of the bedroom, is incredible! You see the scenes as Frank wrote them, and they stick with you, long after the book is finished, LOL!

Damien is the perfect hero. Strong, he refuses to believe he's sulking when he actually is and turns it into anger and a temper tantrum instead.

Syreena is stronger, physically and mentally, than most believed her to be. I loved how she grew even more, and how she came around to Damien's way of thinking, all on her own. It was high time she made decisions for herself. She learned how, the hard way.

The one scene between Damien and Syreena kept me glued, word for word, paragraph for paragraph, page for page. I love that scene - the violence of it, the erotic sensuality of it. Terrific!

Meanwhile, the enemy is getting stronger and bolder, and I can't wait until she's brought down. Ruth may be really intelligent and savvy, but her way of thinking is screwed, and she is one enemy that will have to be defeated - there is no other alternative.

Jasmine, even if she is Damien's `right-hand-man', angered me to no end. I think Syreena and she need a good round between the two of them. But then, it's to be expected. I think anyone would have reacted the same way as Jasmine, especially after having been with Damien for over 5 hundred years. While Syreena still feels jealousy when Damien and Jasmine are together, she doesn't mull over it. Whereas Jasmine is completely opposite in that way of thinking. Meanwhile, Syreena and Jasmine are more alike than they realize, I think.

I can't wait for Noah's book, which is supposed to be out in September `08! Two months won't have gone by fast enough!

Damien
Loved this book as I have those previous in the series. Ms. Frank's words flow well with barely a stutter. I intend to continue purchasing subsequent books by this author.

Great, But Not The Best
I have loved the Nightwalker series. I have enjoyed a break from all the vampire books I read. I like the "take" on the Demons and have loved each of the men in the series. When I read Damien I kind of thought, oh, another Vampire story. I was pleased to see many of the previous characters, even Windsong, but would like more of the Demon stories. This book held my interest and I did enjoy it, but I hope the author takes us back to the Demon stories.
