Kev Merripen has longed for the beautiful, well-bred Winnifred Hathaway ever since her family rescued him from the brink of death when he was just a boy. But this handsome Gypsy is a man of mysterious origins—and he fears that the darkness of his past could crush delicate, luminous Win. So Kev refuses to submit to temptation…and before long Win is torn from him by a devastating twist of fate. Then, Win returns to England…only to find that Kev has hardened into a man who will deny love at all costs. Meantime, an attractive, seductive suitor has set his sights on Win. It’s now or never for Kev to make his move. But first, he must confront a dangerous secret about his destiny—or risk losing the only woman he has lived for… |

Loved it! |
|
I loved this book and could not put it down! I am a fan of Lisa Kleypas from way back when, but I have been dissappointed with some of her more recent novels. But she's back! "Sunrise" was touching, emotional, steamy, romantic...everything you could ask for in a romance novel. Kev was a wonderful, strong, sexy and emotional hero. Win and Kev had great chemistry and I truly believed in their love and story. Keep up the good work, Ms. Kleypas! |

Not her best... |
|
...but that being said, new Lisa is better than no Lisa. :-) Some of Kleypas' books are among my favorites and I have read several more than once, but this one didn't quite do it for me. I thought some of the plot was really contrived. I found Merripen irritating and the doctor overdramatic (really melodramatic). I think some of her earlier books are much better. Can't win them all. |

A little disappointed |
|
I have to say that I was a little disappointed in this book. I LOVE Lisa Kleypas. She is by far one of my favorite authors but this book didn't do it for me. I loved Cam and Amelia's story so I thought this one would be good too. I think the main problem was there was not enough action. It did not keep me glued like some of her other ones. Oh well, I will still ready every book this author writes. |

GREAT READ!!! |
This book is a good as the first book 'Mine Till Midnight'. That doesn't always happen, but i'm happy to say it does in this book. I loved Merripen and Win's love story. I find devestatingly dark and handsom Gypsy's irrisistable enough, but add to that a tormented sole (and not because of a woman) who doesn't feel like he belongs anywhere because of who he is, and what he was, before being left for dead after a Gypsy hunt. But then he was found and taken in by the Hathaway family and meets Win(Winifred), whom his soul is irriversibly drawn to. She is everything he isn't. She is a soothing balm to his tortured soul, and his salvation. But Merripen doesn't see himself as worthy of her(on many levels), and wont let his feelings for Win blind him into thinking there could ever be anything more. But he cant make himself leave either, so he stays with the Hathaways to be with her, if only as a friend and someone to look out for her. Winnefred is also drawn to Merripen ( who wouldn't be?). He's everything she isn't. But she cant help but want him, to want to heal his soul, and the only way she knows how is to love him, be his friend, and never give up on him. Now, I know a few reviews complained that they felt Merripen and Win's story didn't seem like the main story, but I assure you, it was. Yes, Mrs. Kleypas did invlove the other characters quit a bit in this book( both books actually), but I actually found myself more drawn to the book because of that. It gave the book more depth, you got more of a connection with the story as a whole because there were more characters to love, and I found that with more characters to love, the more your gonna like the book and want to read it, the more your gonna find yourself impatient to want to read the other characters stories. I say the more characters to enjoy in a book the merrier, and this book has plenty of characters to enjoy. I have to say though, even though I adored all the Hathaways and their quirks, my favorite is the youngest one, Beatrix. She's absolutely adorable!!! This book is a keeper for me and I hope Mrs. Kleypas writes about the rest of the Hathaways; Leo,Poppy, and Beatrix. I'll be the first in line to buy the books!! And if you haven't read the first book 'Mine Till Midnight', I highly reccomend doing so.
I gave it 4 stars only because for me it took a little too long for them to get together, but thats just me. It's a great story and I absolutely loved it !!!!! |

Lisa has done it again!! |
|
This story about Kev and Winn was well worth the wait! I love how Lisa brought together these two love struck characters. I didn't want it to end. Looking forward to hopefully Leo's story next. |
