Editorial Reviews for  'Something Borrowed'

Product Description
Something Borrowed tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl---until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiancé. Although she wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for the one guy she should run from. As the September wedding date nears, Rachel knows she has to make a choice. In doing so, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk all to win true happiness. Something Borrowed is a phenomenal debut novel that will have you laughing, crying, and calling your best friend.

Good Read
I liked this book, it was fast and fun. A good read when you just want to escape to something light and simple. I recommend this for a summer beach read! Enjoy!!

extra ordinary chicklit
when i began to read this book, i thought "ah.. it's just for a fun reading, like any other chick lits", but it was not! this book is an extra ordinary chick lit.. the plots are well-written, the characters are so well-described that you'll either love or hate any one of them.

the story tells about two best friends rachel and darcy. rachel was the smart ones, and darcy the gorgeous ones. darcy was engaged to dex the handsome man whom was rachel's best friend from college.

what happened next when your childhood best friend dated to the man you secretly loved, and they were going to be married very soon? was it right or wrong to get the love of your life but you got to take him from your best friend's? bet you could not put this book down..

I HATE RACHEL
I read something blue first and then something borrowed. When I read Rachels character I could not believe how selfish and whiny she was. Of course Darcy outshone her. Dary is confident, a go getter, and someone who takes charge. I was so upset that this Rachel was being portrayed as some kind of heroine in this book. How can we condone something such as sleeping with your best friend's fiance? If you read something blue you will see that even despite the fact that Rachel resented Darcy, Darcy was a true friend to her. I think this was so sad that Rachel got her happy ending. I was hoping she'd get run over a bus or something.

Keep your enemies close, but your friends closer
When good-girl Rachel finally has the chance to one-up self-righteous, spoiled Darcy, she does just that. The two have been friends since childhood and now Darcy is marrying the 'perfect' guy, Dexter. Rachel is serving as maid of honor, but when a drunken night and a shared cab ride occur, the something borrowed isn't of the traditional variety ... This is a fantastic debut novel by Miss Giffin - I can't wait to read the rest of her works.

Great!
Everyone else has described the plot, so no need. This book was fantastic. I actually started with Giffin's Baby Proof, couldnt put it down, and then moved onto Something Blue and this. Her books are so well written and they get you in deep so that you dont want to stop reading. The only bad thing was that I read Something Blue before this, not realizing that this one came first. Honestly though it didnt ruin it, it only made me want to keep reading more, because even though I basically knew what was going to happen, seeing the story from the two different viewpoints was great! It makes you realize how differently two friends can view the same exact thing. You want to keep cheering Rachel on even though you know what shes doing is terribly wrong - but I LOVED IT!
