what a roller coaster ride! |
I usually give myself a little time between LL's books because they are soooooo incredibly emotional and full of so much angst. This was no exception. Have some tissues handy!!!
This was a FABULOUS story. Wow. I love the breeds. All of them. I was impressed by Harmony's strength and also her vulnerabilities. I absolutely adored Lance's love and protectiveness for Harmony, yet his ability to be soft and gentle with her was endearing. He was ready to love and protect her from the get-go. Very honorable hero!!! Sexy, Hot love scenes but also very heartfelt. (call me perverse but I did miss the "knotting" element to this particular mating heat, since Lance was human...)
Great secondary characters. And if you follow all of the Breed stories, we are familiar with quite a few of these others. It starts to feel like one big family we all get attached to. At least I do. I can't wait for Jonas (harmony's brother) to get his!! ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE LORA!! I'll be recovering from this one for days!. |

HARMONY'S WAY by Lora Leigh is magnificent. I was truly able to see the story in my mind, so much so I felt as if I was right there watching the plot unfold. Harmony is my absolute ideal for a heroine. She is strong, intelligent and extremely loyal to her cause. I found myself quickly becoming her greatest champion. I soon had competition from Lance who nudged me aside and loudly made his intentions known. Speaking of Lance, I didn't think that I could enjoy a character more but he changed my mind. I liked this manly sheriff in MEGAN'S MARK; I fell in love with him in HARMONY'S WAY. Lance made my heart pound and my palms sweat. His love and protective instincts towards Harmony made me ache it was so perfect. Rough when he needed to be, achingly tender at times, Lance was the other half to Harmony's whole and their coming together was explosive and so sensually satisfying I had to remember to breathe!
While I have read and loved everything that Lora Leigh has ever written, HARMONY'S WAY is now officially one of my favorites. I stand in awe of Ms. Leigh's ability to bring to life these wonderful characters as they slowly weave their way into my mind and heart. There is nothing like breed loving and when it comes to writing this genre, Lora Leigh is the queen!

Harmony, also known as Death, is a breed that is given a second chance in redeeming herself by working with the local sheriff's office. Upon her arrival she meets Lance at a bar and the passion ensues with the first touch. Little does she know that he is the sheriff of the small town she has been forced to live in for the next six months.
From that night he was marked as her mate but as usual, she did what she does best and ran from him instead of embracing the lover she was destine to be with.
Although Lance is not a breed, he possesses the same alpha traits as the other males in Lora Leigh's steamy novels. I loved his character and his subtle dominance over her. He also has the ability to hear the voices in the wind that he once ignored but now that his mate is in danger he must rely on his gift to save Harmony.
As in all the other books the passion is just delicious. Lance was the perfect mate for Harmony. He was able to soothe the murderous beast inside her while still allowing her to be a strong heroin.
All in all, the book was fantastic and I can't wait for my other breed books to come in.

I ENJOY THIS SERIES OF LORA LEIGH ALTHOUGH SHE IS NOT REAL CONSISTENT ABOUT WHICH CHARACTERS SHE SELECTS TO WRITE ABOUT NEXT AND SHE INTRODUCES ALL OF THESE NEW PEOPLE. VERY HOT AND STEAMY LIKE THE OTHERS IN THIS SERIES. |

Horrible book. I read the first book in the series. Thought it was ok, so I tried Harmony's Way. I had to throw it away. The intense sex and constant arousal was so out of control it got in the way of the story. Seriously, just rate it "porn" if that's all you are trying to sell. |
