One of the best selling and most highly regarded volumes in the Blueprints series, Blueprints Pediatrics provides students with a concise review of what they need to know in their pediatrics rotation or the Boards. Each chapter is brief and includes pedagogical features such as bolded key words, tables, figures, and key points. A question and answer section at the end of the book presents 100 board-format questions with complete rationales. This edition includes full-color dermatology and infectious disease photographs and multicolored flow diagrams of congenital heart defects. A companion Website includes a question bank and fully searchable text. |

Not as good as other blueprints books. |
I would recommend First Aid over this one. Blueprints lacks in important basic topics such as nutrition.
Today I saw a child in the ward with chronic glomerulonephritis and opened this book, it had 3 sentences on the topic. At the same time some extremely rare disorders are covered in much more detail. |

Not as good as other Blueprints |
Throughout med school I have been a big fan of the Blueprints series, however, this book lacks the high yield organization and writing that other Blueprints exemplify.
Many of the chapters are inundated with minutia, and trivia that is not warranted for the shelf or steps.
Overall it is a good read, but I would prefer a much higher yield text. |

Blueprints |

The Blueprints book is good. It is pretty concise and readable. Probably doesn't contain all the info you need. The one I got unfortunately had a lot of writing and highlighting in it, but it was ok. |

Blueprints Pediatrics |

This series is FANTASTIC for any medical, DO or PA student. They give you the nuts and bolts of most disorders seen in 2 pages. They are easy to understand and read. They are a wonderful asset for clinical rotations. |

Excellent book for clerkship |
|
I used this book after receiving recommendations for it from literally every person I knew who has been through Pediatrics at multiple medical schools. The book is thorough but doesn't drag you through muddy details, making it an excellent resource for figuring out patients with common problems. Reading it cover-to-cover, along with a question book like PreTest is excellent preparation for the shelf exam. |
