Editorial Reviews for  'Giving Chase (The Chase Brothers, Book 1)'

Product Description
Together they find a special love-can it survive the threat stalking her? Some small towns grow really good looking men! This is the case with the four Chase brothers. The home grown hotties are on the wishlist of every single woman in town and Maggie Wright is no exception. Maggie has finally had it with the men she's been dating but a spilled plate of chili cheese fries drops Shane Chase right into her lap. The sheriff is hot stuff but was burned by a former fiancie and is quite happy to play the field. After Shane's skittishness sends him out the door, Maggie realizes that Kyle Chase has had his eye on her from the start. Now that Shane has messed up, Kyle has no intention of letting anything stop him from wooing her right into his bed. Despite Maggie's happiness and growing love with Kyle, a dark shadow threatens everything-she's got a stalker and he's not happy at all. In the end, Maggie will need her wits, strength and the love of her man to get her out alive. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, and some violent situations.

Customer Reviews for  'Giving Chase (The Chase Brothers, Book 1)'

How did this book get published???
If you enjoy a book written at a high school level, with no character development filled with air-headed people and really poor dialog this book will be for you. If this is the intellectual level of people in small towns (which I doubt) then I'm sure glad I live around an urban center!

This was a free book for me for my Kindle. Thank goodness I didn't pay for it!

Easy read
I found this book to be an easy read and enjoyable. However, if I found this book in a book store, I would have kept on walking due to the cover. Cheesy much? Also, I found some of the conflict dialogue between some of the characters far fetched.

Purely awful novel
This book was just atrocious. The language made it seem as if the book was written by a hyperactive fourteen-year-old. The characters spoke in ways that no emotionally-developed adult would. The book was simply BAD, and I definitely won't be purchasing others by this author.

Mediocre romance
As a fan of Lori Foster, Rachel Gibson and Erin McCarthy, I've seen similar steamy romance novels done better than this. But I like book series about brothers, so I ordered the other four in this series anyway. I liked the Chase family. The brothers tease each other but they would do anything for each other. Their slightly overbearing, but very loving, mother Polly is sweet. I'd love to marry into a great family like that. So that was the part of the book I liked.
Maggie, the heroine, is okay. She's smart, which is always good, but of course, she has self-esteem issues. Kyle Chase watches as his older brother Shane blows his chance with Maggie and steps in to become her hero. I was a little bummed by the way the book started out with Shane and Maggie flirting and then switched to Kyle. I had already started to like Shane and it was strange to switch my affections over to Kyle. But Kyle is a likable hero, so in the end, it's all good.
I didn't mind the plot or characters of this book at all. There was good romance with some action/suspense thrown in. It was the actual style of writing and dialogue that I didn't care for. But I'm going to read the other three brothers' stories and see if they get any better.
If you like books like this, you should really try the Buckhorn Brothers series by Lori Foster. The concept is quite similar, she just does it way better.
Oh, and the cover is possibly the worst cover I've ever seen on a romance novel. I almost had to put a paper book cover on it so it didn't wreck the image the book portrays of Kyle being a strong, sexy, hunk of a man.

Sherry
Love the CHASE brothers. I will read and re-read this entire series! It is a keeper for sure!
Maggie is strong and caring. This is not your usual female in distress, hero come save me kinda girl. She saves herself with the confidence her freinds and the Chase family reinforces. Can't wait till Big Brother Shane meets his match.
