AN UNSTOPPABLE BODYGUARD ON THE HUNT. A WOMAN HIDING A SECRET EVEN SHE DOESN'T KNOW. A PASSION THAT BEGINS WITH DANGER.... Bullet Catcher Adrien Fletcher is on a mission to track down a baby given up in a black market adoption thirty years ago. He has a list of possible names and one tantalizing clue: the infant girl had been marked with a tiny tattoo. And since tattoo-hunting will mean getting up close and personal with the women on his list, he's the perfect man for the job. But when Fletch meets Miranda Lang, he knows she can never be just a name on his list. If she's not his target, he should move on and find the right woman, despite their electrifying attraction. But Miranda is on her own mission, and every step takes her closer to a deadly trap. Fletch may be the only man who can protect her...forcing him to choose between duty and desire. |

FIRST YOU RUN (TO BUY), THEN YOU READ (THE BOOK) - GUARANTEED YOU'LL LOVE IT !!! |
|
Bravo! Another stunning read for fans of Roxanne St. Claire. The first in her new trilogy of Bullet Catcher adventures, FIRST YOU RUN nails all the elements required for the ultimate perfect read in romantic suspense. You'll definitely relate to Miranda Lang, the sympathetic professor-author-heroine who finds herself suddenly placed in peril at a book signing. Lucky for Miranda, alpha male hero Bullet Catcher Adrian Fletcher seems to show up just in time. Or had he planned it from the beginning? Some serious sleuthing is about to begin. Fletch is on a tattoo-hunting mission in order to solve a thirty year old mystery and save a woman's life. Does Miranda have a tattoo? Fletch definitely would like to find out. But that requires getting up close and personal. Ms. St. Claire is a master at keeping the reader glued to the page with plot twists and turns, and this latest Bullet Catcher adventure definitely delivers! We're treated to 346 delicious pages of Mayan adventure, intriguing suspects and a twist at the end that makes you want to read the next book in the trilogy - THEN YOU HIDE (hint, hint, it's already on sale - be sure and order your copy today!). |

Yummy Bullet Catcher |

I have read the whole series and enjoyed it, but I loved this story. Adrien Fletcher has to track down a grown women stolen as a baby. He finds her and totally wants her right away, but is tring to do the right thing and not get involved with the case. They have great sexual chemistry and I love how it is just eating him up because he tells himself he shouldn't be with her. The Mayan story part was a little boring, but Adrien and Miranda made up for it. You don't have to of read the previouse books to get into this story, but they are good. The next two look really good. Can't wait for Lucy. She is a tough nut to crack. Ms. St. Claire seems to be getting better with each book. Keep it up. |

Another winner for St. Claire! |
I love Roxanne St. Claire's books. A friend bought me one two Christmas' ago. I then had to go buy her others at full price. That is not normal for me, I usually shop at used book stores, but St. Claire is not that well know YET.
What I like about her writing style is that her characters are strong but easy to indentify with as they have vulnerabilities. I would highly recommend all of her books.
The only reason I did not give this one a five is because I was getting a little bored with all things Mayan. A little too much history for my own personal taste. |

Run for This One! |
I've been a fan of the Bullet Catchers series from the beginning and have to say that I think Roxanne St. Claire is one author of romantic suspense that really gets what this reader wants. I like a lot of action, a lot of tension, great settings, unusual premises, and, mostly, characters with a love story that's memorable. I've found that to be the case with all of her books, but this one really nails the perfect combination of dangerous situations and incendiary romance. The other reviews have recapped the plot, but I will add that you don't have to have read the first three books in the series to instantly get into this book. It's great to know who the characters are (especially Lucy Sharpe, the boss of the Bullet Catchers) but this author is very good at weaving in other/former characters without making the reader worry that you've missed something.
The trilogy surrounds a mystery that's introduced and not completely solved in the end of First You Run, but enough of it is solved (with a great, surprising twist) that it is satisfying, while the love story and suspense that drives these two characters is a stand alone romantic adventure. But the best part is that it all works together. Oh, and the hero! Fletch is alpha all the way, but a total tender softie on the inside.
I'm dying to read the next book (there's an excerpt in the back of this one and I'm hooked) and will probably re-read the previous Bullet Catchers in the meantime. And the third book in the trilogy is Lucy's story - can't wait!

I couldn't put this one down! |
Thirty years ago, a black market adoption ring flourished in South Carolina. Now, one of the mothers who gave up her baby is dying, and she wants her daughter found. Bullet Catcher Adrien Fletcher agrees to help his friend who was hired to find the daughter. Anthropologist and Mayan professor, Miranda Lang, is up first on his list to investigate but he soon finds she is the target of someone else, someone who wants her dead. Can Adrien finish his job and keep Miranda safe? And what will Miranda think when all his secrets are revealed?
What a great romantic suspense story! I really like the way Roxanne St. Claire weaves the Mayan beliefs and the fear of the year 2012 into the storyline. It adds just enough of a touch of the paranormal without truly veering into that genre. The suspense remains high throughout the story and there are twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put this book down!
Roxanne St. Claire uses the setting to its full effect in FIRST YOU RUN. From the start of the story in South Carolina to the Mayan influenced home, Canopy, the setting is crucial to the plot. The growth of the characters is intertwined in the various situations and locales they encounter. Miranda's growth as a character in particular is phenomenal. It was beautiful to see her grow and conquer her fears.
I haven't read the earlier Bullet Catcher books- a mistake I definitely intend to correct- but this one is definitely a stand alone. It is the first book in a story arc that is a trilogy, however, so there are unanswered questions that are left for the other two books. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book to see what happens. FIRST YOU RUN is highly recommended!
