Editorial Reviews for  'The MacGregors: Alan & Grant: All The Possibilities\One Man's Art (The Macgregors)'

Product Description
All the Possibilities
Creative, compelling, unconventional -- Shelby Campbell was unlike any woman Senator Alan MacGregor had ever known. The cynical politician found himself falling in love with the spirited beauty, though she kept him at arm's length. But despite the centuries-old feud between the MacGregors and Campbells, absolutely nothing would keep Alan from getting what he wanted . . .

One Man's Art
Grant Campbell had withdrawn from the world, living alone in a lighthouse -- until a storm stranded the glamorous Genevieve Grandeau on his doorstep. Grant wasn't a man used to making room for others in his life. Could the enchanting artist erase the shadows from his past and convince him their love was a beacon for the future?

Setting: Contemporary U.S.
Sensuality Rating: 8

Bestselling author Nora Roberts continues her acclaimed MacGregor series with two romantic novellas in The MacGregors: Alan and Grant. In All the Possibilities, Washington, D.C., socialite Shelby Campbell meets Senator Alan MacGregor and the attraction is immediate and powerful. Unfortunately, Shelby is determined to avoid romantic involvement with any public figure, a resolve that stems from her witnessing her politician father's assassination. A man in the spotlight, especially a man in politics, is too vulnerable, and she can't risk losing someone she loves again. Her determination is no match for Alan's, though, as the handsome MacGregor lays siege to the Campbell heart with weapons too compelling to resist.

In One Man's Art, Shelby's brother, Grant Campbell, has found his own way of coping with his loss. A famous cartoonist and political satirist, Grant lives as a virtual hermit in an isolated Maine lighthouse, jealously guarding his privacy. His battlements are breached, however, when beautiful Genvieve Grandeau arrives sodden and stranded on his doorstep. Genvieve, herself a renowned artist, has come to Maine seeking solitude and inspiration. When Grant's grudging willingness to assist a damsel in distress turns to outright surliness as he camouflages his attraction to her, she sets upon a mission to make him regret his rudeness. Soon she has more on her hands than she expected, as she and Grant both recognize a passion that neither can deny.

Though thinner in plot than the typical Roberts book--due to the shorter, double-novella format--The MacGregors: Alan and Grant nonetheless contains the same compelling characters, rich description, and sensuous storytelling known and loved by Roberts fans. This newest MacGregor novel should please both her devoted readers and new readers alike. --Lisa Wanttaja

The MacGregor Clan
Nora Roberts does it again! Being of Scottish background, I could relate to the characters' personalities as well as some of the situations they found themselves in. Having read other stories of The MacGregor Clan, I could not wait for this one. It proved as fun and interesting as the others.

Alan & Grant; The MacGregors Continue
Fabulous writing, especially Alan and Shelby's story. Alan, an up and coming Senator headed for the Presidency meets Shelby Campbell at a political reception. Shelby has been surrounded with the world of Washington, DC politics her entire life. Her father, Senator Robert Campbell, was in the same position as Alan; a US Senator being groomed for the Presidency when he was assassinated at the feet of his two young children, Shelby and her brother Grant. Shelby is part of the political fundraising world, at the request of her mother who asks her to participate; however, she is determined never to make it personal. She has her own shop as a potter and is very happy selling her wares and staying out of the public eye. Shelby is very savvy at the receptions and knows everyone. This is where Alan first sets eyes on her and is immediately attracted to her red curly hair and smoke gray eyes. At this point, Alan decides that Shelby is definitely someone worth getting to know and Shelby is determined to keep the likes of him at a distance. What will "The MacGregor" have to say when he finds out that his son is falling head over heels for his lifelong nemesis, the clan Campbell! Alan represents all the fears inbred in Shelby from her earliest years as the victim of a political tragedy; she WILL NOT allow him into her life. And so the struggle begins.

Genvieve Grandeau and Grant Campbell's story begins at the lighthouse in Maine when Gennie's, a New Orleans artist, car breaks down on a deserted road in the middle of a turbulent thunderstorm. Gennie is trying to get to the cottage she has rented in coastal Maine to leave the big city for a while and the paparazzi of her world and just paint in the peace and quiet of the town of Windy Point. She is seeking some solitude from her very public life in the hopes of making some peace with herself over the death of her sister. Angela was killed in a motor vehicle accident; Gennie was the driver. The accident was no fault of hers, but she still feels responsible. She walks through a thunderstorm on a rocky, muddy road to be led by the light of an old lighthouse. Lo and behold, Grant Campbell, anonymous creator of the cartoon character, McIntosh, is the owner and not very happy about this lost soul invading his privacy. Grant is Shelby's brother and has his own ghosts to contend with, which is one of the biggest reasons he has decided to create his art in the secluded comfort of the old lighthouse and remain anonymous. Of course this is the beginning of a "stormy" relationship and a great story.

I believe of all the MacGregor stories, the two I enjoyed the most, are Anna Whitefield [Daniel & Ian] and Alan MacGregor [Alan & Grant]. They are a clan definitely worth getting to know.

Another Nora Roberts to enjoy. Just keep 'em coming
I have never been disappointed with a Nora Roberts Best seller and this one is at the top of the top. Please continue giving us these enjoyable reading masterpieces.
