Patricia Briggs
I only read Patricia Briggs' story to prepare myself for Cry Wolf, Anna and Charles. This story was fantastic, I couldn't put it down.

Not much to say
Alpha and Omega - a year ago she was a receptionist with no life and no secrets, now Anna is a werewolf terrified of her pack. When she realizes they are doing illegal and immoral things she calls in the head honcho, hoping that he will put a stop to whatever is going on, despite the danger she's in for calling. He sends in his son Charles the Enforcer. They make quite a pair.

Inhuman - ugh! There was too much going on in this story to really appreciate it. A woman with extraordinary gifts is being framed for the very murders she is trying to stop. Her neighbor/friend/lover(she wishes) is inhuman and does his best to keep her safe from the murderer and others.

Buying Trouble - A girl involved in the magical black market is about to be sold off like a slave by her boss's son. In comes a Light Fey Lord. They share one night that swings from bad to good and back again and of course they fall in love. This would have been a really nice story if it had been full length; so I weep over the unfulfilled potential.

Mona Lisa Betweining - I don't know about Sunny's other books but this one sucks. There was no excuse for this to be as bad as it was and it has warned me (probably others as well) off her work FOREVER. mona Lisa has found a new boy toy to replace her now departed (in a way) love G. After killing another Mona (Queen) she has taken something monstrous into her body and now is... well, a monster.

Each of the heroins learn something about themselves during the short time spent with their heros. I think that is all they had in common with each other.

Like a lot of my fellow readers, I bought this book for one or two of the stories. Alpha and Omega deserves at least 4 1/2 and Buying Trouble at least 4 but the other two weren't up to par. I hope you enjoy this collection of short stories if you choose to buy it.

Boring - all romance and NO ACTION
I'm a fan of the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, so I picked up this anthology to get a glimpse of her new Alpha and Omega series. Yawn. If you like romance, then you will likely enjoy these short stories. I prefer more action and mystery with a little romance thrown in on the side (if it fits with the story). My complaint mainly is that you spend a lot of time in the characters' heads thinking about the attraction to the other, wondering if the interest is returned, etc., etc., etc. Eileen Wilks' story was especially painful for this. If that's not what you're looking for, I would skip this book. It is not up to the caliber of Patricia Briggs' other work.

all the stories were good
I enjoyed all these stories. I did not read them in the order they appear however because I chose to read the authors I was less familar with first and save the ones I know I like until later. It was a good decision for me, to me reading them out of order let me up to enjoy my favorite author even more.

Not bad... but the stories should have been short stories, not to be continued...
I enjoyed this book, specially the story of Alpha and Omega, but I didn't like the fact that the short stories were publicity for you to get the book if you wanted to know how they ended. I think that a book of a short stories is a book where the stories should end, not to have a "If you want to know how it ends, read..."

That's the only thing that I didn't like.

About the plots I'm not going to talk as there are other reviews who offer nice insight on them, but there are four stories, the first one, ALPHA AND OMEGA is about werewolves by Patricia Briggs. That's one of the stories that are to be continued on a book.

The second one is about a Hellbound of the Fey, tittled INHUMAN and written by Eileen Wilks. That one also continues on the fourth book of the Lupi by Eileen Wilk.

The third one is about the Fey, tittled BUYING TROUBLE written by Karen Chance, and that's one of the stories that actually concludes in this book.

The fourth one MONA LISA BETWINING is written by Sunny, and is also auto conclusive, but it reccomends you some books in case you want to know more about the world of the Monere or about the demon Lucinda.
